Today was a good day but ended with a bad bad thing.
So today I decided to tackle the shifter wobble. I bought the energy suspension bushings awhile back, and it didn't help the wobble. So I read about the front joint repair on the shift rod, and I tried it out with stuff I had in the shop and sure enough, it's a pretty firm shift. I'm going to post up a thread about it for anyone else curious.
When I started doing the shifter I noticed that there was still a coolant leak from behind my engine. While I was laying under the car looking for it I found an oil leak. The oil was leaking from the fittings I had installed for my oil pressure gauge. I removed all the fittings and put teflon tape on them. (Something I should have done before..) After I tightened them all up it was good to go.
So about the time I finished with the oil leak and the shifter wobble, my buddy showed up and we decided to install my new subs. I just bought two 10" Rockford Fosgate P1 subs. It's pretty good for my first set of subs, I love it. Another friend of mine came over when we finished to check out the Teg, we took it for a test drive and tried out the new subs. We got back and were talking and he asked where the fuse was for the power cable, I popped the hood to show him, and left the hood pins laying down under the hood. My two friends were leaving and I decided I wanted to cruise around.
...with the hood pins not installed....
Yup, I made it a whole 3/4 of a mile before my hood flung up and smashed my windshield!
