That sucks. I think that I tracked down the leak. Some bolts loose on the back of the intake.
I installed some new exhaust donuts and fixed the leak.
Valves adjusted.

Car runs like a champ. :)
I need to take another picture. Interior picture. I've got some pedals cause my old ones were hideous, and some new floor mats to keep my carpets clean. :D

Today was a good day but ended with a bad bad thing.

So today I decided to tackle the shifter wobble. I bought the energy suspension bushings awhile back, and it didn't help the wobble. So I read about the front joint repair on the shift rod, and I tried it out with stuff I had in the shop and sure enough, it's a pretty firm shift. I'm going to post up a thread about it for anyone else curious.

When I started doing the shifter I noticed that there was still a coolant leak from behind my engine. While I was laying under the car looking for it I found an oil leak. The oil was leaking from the fittings I had installed for my oil pressure gauge. I removed all the fittings and put teflon tape on them. (Something I should have done before..) After I tightened them all up it was good to go.

So about the time I finished with the oil leak and the shifter wobble, my buddy showed up and we decided to install my new subs. I just bought two 10" Rockford Fosgate P1 subs. It's pretty good for my first set of subs, I love it. Another friend of mine came over when we finished to check out the Teg, we took it for a test drive and tried out the new subs. We got back and were talking and he asked where the fuse was for the power cable, I popped the hood to show him, and left the hood pins laying down under the hood. My two friends were leaving and I decided I wanted to cruise around.

...with the hood pins not installed....

Yup, I made it a whole 3/4 of a mile before my hood flung up and smashed my windshield!

Imagine this.. going 40mph..

The Hood.. totally trashed...

And without the hood..

The only reason I haven't burned the car to the ground..

Damn man that sucks, I have had a hood smack the windshield twice. Once it was in my dad's EF hatch, the other time me and my brother in law were doing 110 down the freeway in my old foxbody when the hood started to wiggle. I instantly got on the brakes, next thing I know the hoods up in my eyes, then it seperates from the hingest (fiberglass 3in cowl hood), me and my brother in law watch it fly through the air out of my sunroof lol. Luckily my dads a beast body man and fixed it for me. Didn't smash the windshield on the stang but destroyed the one on the hatch.

I guess the hood latch broke on the previous owner so they installed hood pins. They drilled halfway through the hood, the drill bit sucked, so they repeatedly slammed the hood until it went through. There's pictures of the hood all manglged up when I got it. I ended up pulling some dents in it and using body filler to smooth it all out, I primered it. It's kind of a shame it's trashed now.

However i'm going to get a new latch and hood to replace it. Screw the ghetto hood pins. -_-

I'm sure a fat chick could do a lot more damage if I hit her going 40-50mph. :p

That sucks...would insurance cover the windshield? I can't wait to see this car done :) it looks like it will be a total sleeper

Real Good!
damn that sucks, something always seems to go wrong after something good happens just the way it is.
you check on prices to get it fixed?

Kris
I have not checked prices yet. I'm not driving it, so I figured next paycheck i'll get the windshield fixed and get the windows tinted.

I just went and bought the new light bulbs for my gauges and heater, so by the time I am driving it, i'll be happy to. :)
Next on the list is to change a leaky coolant hose, and figure out why my cruise control doesn't work.

It's so nice not having to worry about the motor, now that the motor is rebuilt and in I can worry about the little things. Got my oil pressure gauge wired up to the light switch so with lights on it lights up. Then I got my subs in. I'm going to do a little more wiring tonight. Picked up a new hood and such.

Good day. :)

A little work on the hood, finding a new hood latch and i'm good.

I got all the light bulbs in the dash in. I just need little ones on the switches. ;)

Thanks man. I was thinking of making another thread just to slim it all down. Who knows if i'll ever get around to it.

Quoted on a windshield, $180. They don't do tinting though so I think i'll try to find somewhere else that does both.
