Prozon's '93 GS Build

Not much of a paint is it? Haha.
I painted the intake manifold and valve cover too, and I hit them both with some clear coat. Hopefully it holds the paint together lol.

I bought the new hone today and a new throttle body gasket. (Disassembled the intake for best paint job.)
Tomorrow I will get the bottom end done and throw the engine in the car.

Picture of the engine, it's a little brighter blue then it really is. Shop was dark and the flash made it look really bright lol.

And....

I was planning to get it in already.. but the engine hoist is at my uncle's, and I could not get ahold of him.
And the forklift engine seems to be seized up. -_-

The engine is in now.

I installed it last night. Let it idle for awhile, and then I drove it down the street to try to start the break in. Noticing it had absolutely no power, I only made it down teh street once. I parked it in the shop and was completely crushed to hear this horrible knocking coming from my engine bay. I listened around and couldn't quite find it. I thought it was either my clutch or my #4 piston making noise.

Today I had my uncle swing by my shop and check it out. After awhile of tinkering with it we decided to hop under and check out the flywheel. We put some tension on the crank with a ratchet and noticed we could move the flywheel about a tooth before the crank moved. At first we thought that the crankshaft had broken right at the rear main. Only driving the car a mile and having about 15 minutes of run time on it, we didn't see how it could have, but we knew it had to come out. I pulled the motor out and noticed the flywheel was not right. I reinstalled the flywheel and torqued the bolts down and put the motor in.

Well the knocking was gone, but it runs very poorly. It's getting a few backfires from the exhaust. I think that it's missing on a cylinder or two, so tomorrow I will have to crawl around and start checking things out. I'm hoping I may not have a spark plug wire on the distributor cap on well enough, or something to that nature. Maybe i'll pick up a new set of spark plugs and see if it helps.

Anyways, since this is a build thread, I took some pictures. I have a pretty nice little shot of the engine bay with the new engine in it. I will post the pictures and any new updates tomorrow night.

Two of the spark plug wires were mixed up on the cap. Fixed it up.
Runs good.

Will post pictures tonight.

It was pretty good. A lot more power then it had with that other engine lol.

Thanks. I painted the intake piping to match the motor. Looks better that way.
Doing a valve lash adjustment now, and just fixed my exhaust leak. I have a slight coolant drip from the back of the engine, I need to figure out where it's coming from.

Yeah pinhole leaks suck for sure. I have a mysterious oil leak that i am bound and determined to track down. Pretty sure its the AN hose that comes from my catch can to the return plugs on back of block. Only does it when I am WOT
