Prozon's '93 GS Build

So I still haven't put in a windshield yet. I think i'll buy one and do it myself in the next few days. I've been driving it short distances.

I found my Integra in a wrecking yard. The only difference was that it was a RS instead of a GS. No cruise control or power windows in it. I picked up a cruise control actuator off of another Honda, and installed it on the Integra.

I finally got around to trying to fix the coolant leak. I removed the intake manifold tonight and will put a new intake manifold gasket on it. I'm also going to try to put some RTV on the back where the coolant tube goes. Hopefully that will seal it up. I'll look for anything else that has a chance of leaking and seal anything up I think COULD leak..

What a pain in the ass to find the damn leak..

I also bought a cowl cover, some mini light bulbs, windshield wiper arm..
Basically everything to make it LOOK like a normal car.
My buddy is supposed to get me some prices on some paint via his paint supplier. (He's a painter.)
After I get the coolant leak fixed, and buy the paint.. we will start on the body work and paint job.

Eeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrm!
So yeah, i'll update this again when I make some more progress.

Honestly I completely forgot it had a coolant leak until yesterday lol. It hasn't been driven much. Just down the road every once in awhile to warm it up. It's been sitting because of the windshield.

But it would be nice to NOT leak coolant. -_-
I will get it fixed tomorrow, and then I will price a windshield! :D

Well I totally forgot about the windshield.
I think I fixed the coolant leak, need to tighten down the intake manifold bolts though.

I bought a clutch, transmission rebuild kit, and master bushing kit.
That pretty much covers the mechanics of the build.
I will need to break in the motor before I throw on the trans kit and clutch. (Turbo is going on at the same time.)

I'd better call tomorrow and get someone to come put a windshield in for me!

Windshields are expensive.

So my coolant still leaks. I believe it's my thermostat housing, i'm going to replace it and put a new seal in it. It only leaks when the thermostat kicks open, so i'm guessing the seal on the housing isn't that great.

I bought a new paint gun, slide hammer and various other things.
Might start body work tomorrow.

Haha I keep forgetting to update my build thread...

So here goes.
The coolant tube I sealed up it seemed to have a little bit of a seal issue.. I made the leak worse. I ended up popping the seal halfway out. I need to buy new seals for it when it's back together.

I also bought a new thermostat and gasket. No help there. (Its my coolant tube leaking.)

Also Noticed I had coolant in my oil. I assume it's my head bolts that i've re-torqued like 3-5 times lol.
Ordered some ARP head studs from the Club Integra store and they should be here this week.

Started installing my ENERGY SUSPENSION MASTER BUSHING KIT!
Comments on that so far..

The lower control arm is a bitch to get the bushings out of. Using my 12 ton press I couldn't get it to come out. It was a combination of bushing the bushing apart with the press, and hitting it with a huge sledge hammer. It eventually came out.
The upper control arm was easy peasy. Bushings came out no problem.

Finishing up the front end tomorrow and doing the rear. Should go by quickly. Then the transmission is coming out so I can rebuild it.

Sleeeeeppy time!

It's past the point of no return. I can't possibly make the money back I have sunk into it lol.
No sense getting rid of it now!

Just waiting on parts to come in. ;)

lookin good man and yeah those front lower control arm bushings are a pain, I had to torch out the rubber and then use a hack saw blade and cut thru the metal and then using a hammer and screw driver pound it out because the press just wasn't cutting it for me

I broke my camera, so pictures are kind of rare. I can try to snap some tomorrow if you would like.

As it sits now my front suspension is in pieces, my fenders are loose, my front bumper is off. The motor is on the ground in front of the car and the transmission is on the table ten feet from the car lol. It's not a very pretty sight.

However it has come a long ways since I bought it. The interior is complete, all lights work, when it's all bolted together you can't tell it was ever in a wreck. (Which is a HUGE improvement from the crazy body lines and 1/4" gap on the front corner light.) Not to mention it will have a rebuilt transmission and motor when you see it.

I've been thinking of traction lately though. I'm going to need some big tires to hook up. My current tires are new-ish, but they're skinny. I don't think i'll be able to catch traction unless I get rolling good first lol.

Disassembled most of the transmission. All that's left is the differential and reassembly.
Hell, it's all easy until you have to put it together. :)

So all synchros, seals and bearings were replaced. Installed on the shafts, just need to put all the shifters on tomorrow. Didn't work on it much today.
