Ahh ha I get it. I thought about it when I got the car painted but decided to leave it white. The nice part is I can shoot it black any time right!!!! Ive painted all kinds of pieces on the car that look hot. Like my one Acura emblem on the trunk is flat black. You wouldnt believe how much time that took.

And once again I dont try to hide the fact that I run nitrous. Im proud of it and I love it. Its the simplest way to go Forced Induction. It keeps the engine bay clean and open. As long as your motor is built and you keep up with your rod bearings its a credible source of power. Anyone thats a hater on Nitrous is just either stubborn or Ignorant to the advantages. I did my homework before I decided to go with nitrous and fully built my motor to handle upwards of a Hundred Fifty shot!!!! Yup 150!!! Easily with a stock valve reving to 8300. Even I still think that just bolting up a NOS kit to a stock motor is cheating a little but its not much different than bolting a turbo to stock internals. Its just alot cheaper. I think thats where people get wrapped around the axle and bent out of shape. Since they spent 5000 dolars its got to be better than me spending 500 dolars. Right? So the guys that spend the 5000 dolars trash the 500 dolar guy for spending less money. Welcome to the American way of life. Praise the ritch bag on the poor. But then again I hate te tard that slaps on a NOS kit, hides it the best he can and wants to race everyone claiming his car is STOCK. Thats a bunch of crap!!!! Thats Rice if I ever saw it!!!!
Ok OK im stepping off my soap box now. This rant was not directed to anyone in particular I guess I just had to get it off my chest. Im allways getting flak from people for using nitrous so whatever. Its all good!!!

The car still hasnt made a pass on the track yet but it will soon!!! I'll keep everyone updated.

Well that last motor rebuild I did failed too. Im so freakin bummed I lost oil pressure again so pulled the motor again to find my new crank damaged by a spun main bearing. The car still ran perfect but the bearings were shot and about to self destruct. So I have determined that the block is to blame and if I would have givewn it more thought before my last rebuild I might have figured it out. But im not a mechanic or a machinist im a regular guy trying to build a bad ass motor. So heres the solution. I took the block I had left over from my origional LS, which I know is in good shape, to my local machinist friend with the crank, pistons, oil pump, and head. Hes gonna machine them all to perfect form and reassemble the bottom end for me with Clevite bearings. When I get it all back i'll have to bolt the head on and reassemble all the outer parts and pieces. All the work is easy for me by now since Ive done it sooooooooooooooooo many times. The only real bummer is the cost of fixing the worn internals, buying new rings and bearings, and assembly. I am a testiment to doing things the hard way.

why not use honda bearings???? they are known to withstand up to 700hp

Prime example why not to rush a motor build and to make sure its done right the first time. If you put it together and think for one moment you didn't do something right, you take it all back apart and suck it up.

Im gonna need some oversise bearings once the machining is right. Clevite are suposed to handle the insane load that will be put on the motor just fine.

And I did think I was doing the right thing when I assembled the motor. Yes I did rush it a little but thats just me its in my nature im a fast mover with everything. I made all the calls to all the people that know alot more than I do and everything seemed like it would be ok. I guess theres never any replacement for experience. Im deffinantly getting some experience here.

One you need to plasti guage those bearings to make sure there right. You don't need crazy bearings to handle 400hp they just need to be installed right. Also you need to make sure your rings are set correctly in the right directions, you need to take a micrometer to your cylinder walls to make sure they are perfect, don't think cause you took it to a machine shop that there ok, they mess up all the time. Alot of things come into play and I keep seeing people throw motors together and then have them one, not run right from the get go, or two, not last more than 10k miles. I guess you get practice but remember "Practice Doesn't Make Perfect. Perfect Practice Makes Perfect"--Vince Lombardi

Perfect Paractice make Perfect Performance "The Marine Corps" I justg dont think that afterpaying someone to assemble my bottom end that I should mess with it. What if I screw something up?

Thats not what i'm saying, if you have someone do it that knows what there doing, then by all means let them. But I would want to know that they know what there doing, I here too many people saying oh I can build that, putting together 350s in there back yard is alot different then putting one of these together. All the tolerances are so much tighter, there's absolutly no room for error. There not hard motors to put together but they have to be perfect or they won't last. Right now for instance i'm building my b17. I know how to put the crank in, how to torque the rods, and install the pistons, but I won't do it by myself. My boss is going to sit there and make sure everything goes perfectly, why do I trust him, because he's been working on porsches, ferraris, mercedes, you name it for the last 30 years, he used to work for Renntech Porshe, he knows how to build a motor, not saying you need all that but you know what i'm talking about. You have to get someone that really knows what there doing to build a good motor.

Yeah I know what yer sayin. But what about the guy helpin you? you listed off alot of cars that hes an expert with but no Hondas. You obviously know him well enough right, or at least trust your life and money to him. Well so do I with the guy working on my car. He runs a machine/performance shop an hour from here where I live. I had a few closer options but this guy is the shizzle. He specializes in Hondas and custom set ups. They are a very reputable.

Then it sounds like your in good shape. I just didn't know if you were having Bobs Garage do it or someone you know that knows what he's doin. I gotta ask tho, did you guys figure out what went wrong with it the first time? Always good to know what to look out for. As for my boss he works on honda's too, and imo if you can build porsches you can build a honda:lol:

yeah we found out. It had to have been the block the entire time. The first crank we put in the car looked good at assembly so it had to be the block. I figured that I missed a bad crank so thats what I replaced along with the bearings the second time around. When I found the brand new crank damaged then that told me the real story. Journal 3 on the block was toast. So I trashed the block and now im starting over. I really dont mind too much. I love the work I just hate spending money twice for the same stuff. Ill keep this post updated. heres some pics of todays progress.

before tuck on driver side

after tuck almost done still need to secure a few things ill finish it this weekend

no im not doing the extreeme wire tuck but itll look alot cleaner when im done and be easier to work on.

yup no more abs. I really want to free up all the space in the engine bay that I can. The car is not a daily driven car. I only drive it in the evenings and weekends when I feel like it. We have 2 other cars as daily drivers.

Aussie a bunch of my friends and I are going to Emerald coast dragway tonight. If your interested in going let me know sometime today on here. Were gonna meet in Crestview and all drive together for the last stretch of the drive. The track is sitting right on the Okaloosa and Escambia county line. You can see it from I-10 its about 30 feet off the HWY.
