Crankshaft is home. Rod and main bearings are home. Gasket kit is home. Dropped the rods off at the machine shop, all from this engine and all from the last.

The cause of the spun bearing would appear to be the mixed up rod caps. My machine shop man picked the four best ones, and is going to clean them up. Rings will be here next week. Can get the rods tomorrow or Monday.

Still need more money to finish it all though. I wanted to rebuild the transmission to. I'm not putting the engine back in how the transmission is.

Good job bro. I think that bolt u were tlkin bout on page 3 is a timing cover bolt. But you have prolly figured that out my now. I def remember seeing it when doing my water pump 2 weeks ago. Ur up in Washington right?

Thanks for the comment! Appreciated.

I had thought it came from the timing cover area too.. but it is larger than those bolts. Can't find anywhere to put it, I have more than one.. but none are on the car right now. It can't be THAT important right???! Haha.

Yeah i'm in western Washington. I'm a bit south of Olympia.

Well it's been awhile since I've had pictures.

Crankshaft was turned and had to be welded. (Spun bearing.)

Re sized rod, stock piston.

Gasket kit.

Main and rod bearings.

You see that bolt in the engine slightly above the oil filter area? Why would that be there..?

On a normal block, there is a little spot you can see, but there is no hole. Somebody drilled and threaded a hole for a coolant port, but where the hell would it go? I just put a bolt with silicone/superglue to plug it lol.

And I have a few more pictures to update my head gasket thread in the how to section.

I might take a little time to put it back together. I might buy a turbo, in which case I might upgrade my rods at least.. and i'm still planning to rebuild the transmission.

Woo! Haha.

Tomorrow I will clean up the block and put the crankshaft in, probably a few gaskets here and there. I will order piston rings soon enough.. (ordered ONE piston's rings by mistake)

Also, I bought a bunch of turbo things today.

T3/T4 .57 Trim Turbo
Intercooler with piping.
Walbro 255 fuel pump
HKS SQV BOV
Boost Controller
Oil Feed/Return lines
RC 440 injectors (Tam suggested 550, which I may upgrade to.)
Wastegate with 7 and 13lb springs.

Still need a manifold/down pipe, a few other things.

Oh and I'll be harassing Tam about turbo junk until then. :D

I'll bet that yours will be cleaner though lol. As 10% owner of my company I'll let you ride in my car. :)

I put the crankshaft in, I need to torque the caps down still though. Just put the new rear main seal in too. My block won't be as shiny as it used to be, mainly because I just want it running again lol.
