Prozon's '93 GS Build

3Axis

mothaf*cka...
is it difficult to re-align panels? I thought all of that is contingent upon the condition of the frame.

Thanks man. I was discussing how I can get the body panels to line up a little better. I think that I can get my drivers side fitting better, but i'm not sure it will ever be perfect, I'll have to do some cutting and welding. Luckily, I just bought a new welder so i'm really excited to try it out on the Integra lol.
haha nice, I also had problems with my body panels, my rear bumper was falling down and shit, but what I did was I had a friend hold it in place for as long as he could just brutal strength on it lol and my job was to drill new holes in and put new screws in, and now it looks tight! and its still holding in place lol.

But as i can see on your ride you might have to do a little bit of extra work :p, good luck again bro :D

It's not difficult to align panels if the frame underneath is perfectly fine. The drivers fender is at least a half inch further forward than the opposite side.. I'll be cutting it up and welding it on dead on in another few days.

Thanks. I took a picture of the bad alignment up front. I will post it tomorrow. I also figured out my new welder.. so i'm going to be welding the front soon too.

I got the front end aligned way better. I took the headlight out and flattened some stuff out today. The panel is now even with the hood all the way and the marker light is almost even with the headlight. I'm a lot happier with the fitment of the panels now, the gaps aren't perfect but they are 100x better. I said I would post pictures, but i'm being lazy. Dialup takes forever. I'll get around to it later lol.

The only real noticeable part that isn't lined up is the bumper. I can't seem to get it to tuck up to the fender real well.

So today I was cruising down the road, and I heard a loud ticking.. I pull over and shut it off.. look under the hood and see nothing out of the ordinary. Start it up.. ticking.. low power.. so I shut it down and got someone to tow me home.

After pulling the valve cover, I think it is quite possible that my timing belt jumped a tooth. Premature wear on it too.. wouldn't doubt it. I need to go buy a belt, water pump and tensioner. There goes the Xbox360 fund. -_-

You already opened it up?

What all did you have done to it during the rebuild? Valve checked for trueness, guides checked for wear, valves lapped and 3angle valve job on the head?

No, just the valve cover/timing cover is off. I suspect damage because of the hellish knocking/ticking sound and that I can't get the cam on the intake side to roll over smoothly.

The head was not touched. It was milled and compression tested. The rebuild was all in the bottom end.

The non-vtec heads are lopey, as they run over a large lobe at all times. They will be a bit harder to turn than a B18c or b16.

Make sure the timing marks are still lined up properly. Make sure the valve lash is within spec. I would set each cylinder at TDC and pressurize the cylinder listening for a big leak (or just do a leakdown test) before I pulled the head and had to replace the headgasket.

Not sure if you have a spare car to get around in though, so that may not be a viable option to wait on tests.

I do not have a spare car, but I don't really have anywhere to go.

However, the intake cam does not go over how it should. The exhaust cam does. It's very difficult to roll over with a wrench on it. Not how it should be. Could that be valve lash WAY out, or more likely damaged valve?

Could be a bent valve that isnt sliding through the valve guide properly. Too bad there arent any affordable options for the snake cameras with a light on the end. That would be the nicest thing to have in a situation like this.
