That spark plug gap is huge! Bring it down to .040, and you need to set the timing with a light and moving the dizzy! Post some pics of the plugs and I'll let you know if you mixed them up.
Exactly. You can't have huge gapped plugs and improper timing and expect it to idle like a sewing machine.

Well yeah I get that lol, I must've got the wrong spec off HT for the plugs, No worries I went home during my lunch break and fixed it, Plugs are now gapped .040 and I will set timing later, I found the real problem though, It was just my fuck up, I had the map sensor plugged in the wrong socket, I was getting high idle though so I took the iacv off to clean it, I'll report how that goes later when I get back home.

Bleh, Already discussed this in vip but I'll post it here to let the noobs know what's up.

No, I got it running right, It was a simple mistake.

Basically the headgasket didn't seal at all, Oil is leaking out one corner and coolant's getting in the cylinder.

Before you douches go all "Oh you f***ed it up lol" I know one of two things for certain that caused this.

1. The machine shop did a s*** job and I know, You don't even have to say it... But my grandpa INSISTED to take it to a shop he's been using for decades and said they could do it right.

Or

2. Now before we flame me over this I did research and asked some reputable people including a guy at T1 racing and they all said using copper coat on the headgasket would help seal it, So yeah basically perhaps coppercoat was a s*** idea.

Either way I need a new headgasket now :angryred:
Here She was getting ready for what I was hoping would be her first drive with no more f***ed valves.

And that's when it started sputtering and smoking... Fml

Nooooooooo, Not my clean block

That would piss me off, Is the copper coat the reason or what's the reason? You used a oem gasket with copper coat I don't see how that would happen unless you torqued down the head wrong or the head or block is warped somehow

Yeah block was cleaned and check with a straight edge while the head was gone.

If you notice in the one pic you'll see some of the copper spray seemingly leaking out with the oil, I'm wonder how that's possible since it was dry when I installed it...

Because they work perfect as is! No need for that mess! We're not running a DSM here!
I use it simply for piece of mind. I know honda's work fine, but it also doesn't hurt to use that stuff. As long as it is used properly that is. To be fair I also only use it when I haven't had the head and block resurfaced. If it is a fresh surface I use no spray, but if it hasn't been resurfaced, but both check out fine, I use the spray as insurance for any possible imperfections that occur when you disassemble and reassemble a motor.
