got this pile of crap gsr head tonight. man this thing is rough.
good thing I plan to take it apart, clean it all up, replace the valve seals, go with spring lma's and such
when kids get their hands on a can of spray paint nothing is safe it seems like.

I am still trying to figure out if this is even worth doing anything with. what the hell. the guy said it was to do a ls vtec. I dont remember drilling out a head hole for lsv. smh, tards- spend the 10 bucks on some dowels. jesus christ its a b series, its not that hard do it correct.

removed the rocker assy and hydraulic lifters to use spring ones.

reason behind inspecting lma's and replacing. this fell apart when I was compressing it and letting it come up.

j's racing valve cover out of retirement!

hahahaha, just kidding. I painted that s*** for my hatch. but I love it.
no worries about the couches, I have new furniture coming in a couple weeks. that is a italian leather couch I got in Feb. 06. looked good till last year. then it went to s*** instantly. lol

taking the head to the shop tomorrow take out the valves, blast everything, take it to my best friend who is a phenomenal head porter. then hopefully in a couple days get it back polish up it up.
gives me time to take the eg apart.

Ok so started doing some research and reading for these transmissions.
How come my k20-r trans is cheaper to rebuild then this Gsr/b16 trans!
Had a friend offer me 3500 for the shell last night. Turned it down. I got to thinking about it.… It probably won't come through,
So best friend couldn't get to the head till next week at earliest. Machine shop said Friday it could be done. Instead I cleaned up the head myself.
Valves out. Not itr as seller said

2 hours of scrubbing and washing. Pressure washed first actually then this.

Mostly cleaned up

Dremel wire wheel to it all

Thanks
Nice! Seems like a lot of work to be done!
Yeah man, feels like I am starting back to where it was 3 years ago when it was dropped off.
Going to fredricksburg tomorrow, picking up my p28 ecu and selling the a3.
Got the dash pulled out, most wiring off the firewall. SRS Box and wiring pulled out for the front area. Still have the srs stuff for the rest of the car which honestly probably wont pull.
Passenger side headlight wiring was un rats nested.
Looks like who did the mild tuck previously did it completely wrong.
They cut the wires in half and head shrunk them back on wrapping the harness up in probably a roll of electrical tape.
No big deal, got it un tucked and shoved back in the cabin.
I parked it to close to the fence to get the door open to take off the fender on the driver side. I did the tuck on the driver side this summer though, so wont be hard. just a quick pull and re route.
Started to work on the bay a little. just got the shock towers wired off.
Then decided to hit up a dude that I have done some deals with before. Asked him how much a rhd firewall swap costs if I bring him a shell stripped. Gave me a good price. Still contemplating.

On to the pics that I know everyone just scrolls to

After ish. still working

new dash in. just to get it out the computer room.

Probably pull the mustang off the concrete slab, and get this bad boy in the air to strip the suspension.
I oulined the paint on the shock tower to raise them a bit and reinforce. The shock tower top metal is so thin its crazy. if you ever welded them up you know what I am talking about.

ok on the k series you can use a hybrid racing high pressure line fitting an create your own high pressure line.
In turn one could tuck the line.
Is there any kind of fitting that is offered for b series pumps?

yeah your probably right about keeping it. I do love the look of the car, my first honda love. then when I am done with this part of the car, I will drive it for a couple years then tear it down again, because I just drove the shit out of it like I did before.
I spent about 5 hours on it yesterday. bro my hands were swollen. I have not worked that hard on a car in a very long time. Now when I was building the hatch... that is another story.

Thanks, I hope it will be.

The most frustrating thing about building a b series is finding some freaking stock gsr rods and itr pistons!!! GWAAAAHHHH!!!! Everyday I am looking in 4 different forums.
Not about to spend money on forged rotating assembly. rather spend that kind of money in another k24. Forcing myself not to go back that route. I want stock oem setup. can never go wrong with oem.
Sold my k20a3 today to a guy up north. so a few bucks to play with. I did not want to sell one of my aem boxes but the dude offered me more then I was asking so I agreed. but yet again that probably will not come through, lol.

I like how you're always working on s***, lol :thumbs up
Yeah man, always keeping busy.

Grabbed my boys welder last night, did some hole filling today, and grinding, and sanding.
Have one of my good friends who helped me redo my hatch originally a couple years ago coming by tomorrow. He is visiting from texas, and has missed turning a wrench and jamming out.
Pull it out to where I can pull the driver fender, tuck the wires. Do some more prep work, lay some bondo, lay some high build sandable primer and chill.
Decided against raising the shock towers. Just more work I dont feel like f***ing with right now. Years to come I will probably burn the bondo off and raise them. Who knows. keeps me wanting to take it apart again one day lol.
Picked up 3 gsr rods and pistons, windage tray, pickup tube tonight.
Traded my eg carbon fiber hood for a metal one I can cut the ever living piss out of for the itbs. Along with the trade came 100 bucks, mugen oil cap, spoon shift knob, misc oem gaskets, more valve seals, unorthadox under-drive crank pulley, b&m short shifter, some chrome cam cap seal, and a spark plug cover thing.
Found some nippon itr pistons for 98 bucks shipped with rings, probably will just stick with oem gsr as its just less expense I have to put in this oem build. People still boost stock gsr's all the time as well.
Once I get everything together I will take it to top dead center and use the synchro bath to clean everything thoroughly.
Tried figuring out the ac things but said f it and filled all the holes on the radiator support. I will figure out something eventually, lol.
Firewall holes still have to get done. I know.

Nice! Didn't know you were gonna go all out on that bay! Should of been done before the K20 swap! Haha! Surprised you didn't buy Matt's blown up engine. Can't believe he only had that car for a few weeks now and it blew up on him!

I pulled the b16 that was in the teg, dropped it in the kids car that bought it, popped the mount off and dropped the k in. I had the car for like 5 days when I dropped in the k. I didnt know crap about honda's. I was just like derp a derp, fumbling around like a retard. lol
Seriously, always wanted to do this, I did not know how to properly do a lot of things and patience of searching, reviewing, experimenting, and doing bay over and over and over. I am doing it. The hatch under dash harness I removed all b series wiring, that taught me a lot.
Sooner I get the engine together the sooner I get to do more wiring, sleeving the harness I got from you.
