Prozon's '93 GS Build

A few slight set backs. I was hoping to already have the car in the exhaust shop by now, but I guess it will wait until next week.
The new radiator fan and electrical connector for my fuel pump won't be here until Friday- which is LAME!

I'm going to try to get everything else done with the car so that when the plug and fan gets here, it's ready to go. My ECU is chipped now and all the intercooler piping is hooked up. I really should have just waited though- I paid f***ing $40 for a coupler from Speed Factory and I ended up cutting 2 or 3 inches off it lol. I have some regular hose clamps on some of the piping I need to replace- I ran out of t-bolt clamps lol.

I'm going to head out and trim a little bit of the radiator support and weld in the new mounts for the radiator. Hopefully by the end of the day this thing will be ready to roll to the exhaust shop. Minus the fuel tank of course. -_-

Damn I haven't looked at your thread in a while. Great job on the repair to the front end:thumbs up

Been working on the front. Radiator core support is being heavily modified. Cut my finger with the grinder so I came in for a band-aid and figured I would update as I ate dinner.

By the end of the night the car will have the radiator mounted and injectors in. The fuel tank can't go on until Friday, and of course I can't send the car to the exhaust shop until the fuel tank is back on.

:)

Meh, never got back to work on it after I came in lol.

I've got some plating cut out and clamped down ready to weld in place for the radiator. Tomorrow I will bolt the radiator in, install the radiator hoses, fill with fluids, and reinstall intercooler. (Pulled it out to have room to grind/cut/weld.)

Yay progress! But a cut from a grinder seems more serious then a bandaid fix... haha. Are you still on track to get it back together Friday?

Yes i'm still on track. The cut isn't bad. It barely took the skin off my finger. I was using the handheld grinder to grind one of the radiator mounts and it jumped and I hit my finger on the grinder. Not really a big deal, i've done it once before- but usually i'm wearing gloves when I am working on things. :thumbs up

I am going to go weld up the plating I put across the radiator support.

Finished the half radiator install.

Basically I trimmed out the original mounts, cut a rectangle piece of metal out and welded it in the bottom. I then drilled holes in it to put the new radiator mounts. I slightly modified the OEM radiator hold down and bolted it to the spot where the fan would bolt to. I then drilled a hole in the top of the core support to bolt the other part of it.

What do you guys think?

Some pictures with the radiator out. Painted it red to cover up the bare metal, it was either red or white and I think red looks better lol. I do not envy the guy building my exhaust. There are going to be some tight turns involved. I think the dump pipe will be the worst.

This would be the front of the core support, you can see the bracket I have set up to hold the intercooler.

Here is the inside view.

Very.. VERY.. cramped..

Oil pan and return lines are getting done tomorrow. Assuming my plug for my fuel pump comes in the morning on Friday, or sooner, the car should be ready to be towed to the exhaust shop. I will probably fire up the car with no exhaust to check for leaks, but first run with the turbo will be out of the exhaust shop. Hopefully I can make it the 5 mile trip home without getting pulled over for not having a bumper haha.

What do you guys think thus far? :D

Thanks haha, I appreciate the comments!

I am really anxious to get the turbo done, one, because it has been in the works since November.. and two, because after the turbo is done I will FINALLY spend some time on the body work lol.

Right now the ECU is chipped/basemapped on Crome, just got it done at SpeedFactory. It will also be getting dyno-tuned at the same place. I will post a video when it's running with the turbo!

I am waiting on the electrical connection for my Walbro fuel pump, it should be here Friday morning. I will run it for a few seconds then to make sure i'm not leaking anything out of the injectors or oil lines. If all is well then I will take it to the exhaust shop- assuming it is early enough in the day to go to the exhaust shop. If it goes to the exhaust shop friday, well hopefully i'll get it back Friday and hear it's first start up on Friday. :)

Oh and the body should be fun. I've got quite a bit of "repair" to do, but maybe after the motor is done i'll actually get around to shaving the bay and doing that damn wire tuck i've had planned!

Keep the comments coming guys! :thumbs up
