Yeah, no real dents. Guy I bought it from had an '01 so he gave me his shitty dented hood (touchup paint on it) and took the one off of this. But on the passenger side, there's a bit of what I've always referred to as "Honda rot" over the rear tire well.

Well my first order of business is to have the timing belt & water pump replaced. It's got 190k which is kind of high, and the dude said he "didn't know when" the timing belt was changed (aka probably never). Then I've gotta wash it, clay it, wax it since the weather hasn't been good enough lately. I bought new Hankook tires for the Civic 3 weeks before asshole totalled it, so after I replace the one that got slammed I'll likely swap them over to the teg. Appearance wise I plan to do some work, but not too much--I like to keep it clean & simple. Engine work won't be done by me, I don't really know much about cars, but I do like to watch.

Sounds like a good start and maybe take a better look at that "Honda rot" and see what can be done for it. Keeping it clean and simple is smart if you live near shady areas and just looks better.

I'll have to take a peak around the DIY sections for how to deal with it. He just slapped some paint on it. Any suggestions on what technical terms to search for?
