i am getting ready to start building a new motor for my honda

the plan is as follows

b18a bottom end which is a 1.8 li dohc im leaving stock rods and crannk using 1.6li domed pistions since the 1.8 has flat pistons with the same bore this will raise the compression slightly. then new bearings and rings wrist pins etc a civic type r oil pump and a golden eagle ls vtec kit since the 1.8li block im using is not a vtec engine. then i will use my b16 aka 1.6li head which will be port and polished with stage 3 skunk 2 cams and super tech valves, valve springs, and retainers then a hondata intake manifold gasket with an integra type r intake manifold which will be ported and port matched with my edelbrock 65mm throttlebody

then i will use a nitrous express nitrous wet kit with a 75 shot

i will run it with a p28 ecu with a full neptune
with a rywire dizzy jumper and a rywire ecu jumper harness
and obd1 b16 or gsr dizzy

i am told i should be pushing around 400 to the wheels in my ef 4door (89 civic sedan)

i will be running a lsd b16 tranny and hasport billit aluminum mounts with a dc sports 4-1 integra header also an act 7.5 pound flywheel which will so alot considering the stock flywheel is 23lbs

i would like to hear any ideas or opinions

thanks for reading

Buddy of mine had a similar build with a 100 shot, only made 285whp. Good luck, should be fun!

OMG it has VTEC?
Does the stock flywheel really weigh that much?
Who told you you would make 400?
Why a DC header?
Do you plan on DD this car?
And you should organize all the parts into a list, instead of I am going to use this with this and then I have this

Pretty cool setup. Yeah 300hp sounds more reasonable, but if you go with a better header you'll probably see better power than from the DC.

Sorry to say but 400 is way out of reach with a 75 shot. I had a semi built b20 vtec with 75 shot and I was 268whp. I ran a 13.29 with street tires. It will be a fun fast car but no 400 whp

sorry not a 75 i made an oops i ment 100 but i will dd the car and yeah the stock flywheel does weigh about that much trust me i dropped it on my finger at one point and thought i broke it but it will be fully dyno tuned with full race traction bars and it is going into my 89 4dr so i will deffinatly need them hahaha but if i do it right and dont mess up i will be somewhere in mid 300s possibly close to 400 but i am going with dc because they have treated me well in the past and i dont have the kinda cash it takes to buy a hytech header since that would add like 1g to the cost of the build but it will be freaking fast that is for sure since my b16 in my crx is putting down 189 to the wheels right now with a dc header

Stock LS weighs 18lbs, GSR weighs 18lbs and ITR weighs 16lbs

You aren't going to break 400 hp. I would say you would be lucky if you hit 300 hp with that set up. maybe with a 82mm/ITR pistons but not with a stock lsv with headwork. and tuner or pro series cams? and I'd get something better than the DC header.

Drop the extra 200 and buy a real header doesn't have to be hytech anything is better than a DC.
