subs and amp came in. this stuff is huge. ive never had 15's before, and they just look humonguos. not to mention the subs are a 12" deep and weigh like 60lbs each. the amp is 21" wide. i cant wait to get this stuff put in.

thread jackers

sorry

great choice on the MTX. i was deciding between the kicker L7 and the MTX 9500 but I got a good deal on the L7 so i went that route. for my next sub I am looking at a 10" MTX or the almight JL. sealed, as i want to steer away from SPL.

patrick, your system should be sweet, as long as you listen to rap 15's are sooooo nice. i used to have two in my grand cherokee but my box doesn't fit in my integra :( The lows are so great from 15's in general. i just ordered one alpine type x 12. im excited. and what alternators do you have? high output or stock ones? and btw whats the amps on a stock integra alternator? i have a 99 gs if that changes anything.

stock integra alternator is 90amps i believe. i have a 165amp alternator. and i really want the less audio knowledgeable to understand these are not just some 15s. these subs are 700 dollars a piece; these are absolutely entirely too loud for an integra. im just stupid obsessed with bass. in all honesty, ill probably only be able to turn it up 1/4. what i have now(my 7512s) is much louder than most 15s. its just as loud as 2 rockford fosgate P2 15s. its louder than 2 memphis m3 15s, and the 15s i bought are literally 140in3 more displacement. its going to be stuipd loud. for those that didnt know, MTX is under ownership from 3 years ago and has rerouted the company and its image. so any of you who have experience with mtx stuff before 2007, havent experienced the new stuff they are doing.

mounted the crossovers today and bought the 3/4" mdf board to build the box. also bought some 1/0 ring terminals for my ground points.

Maybe you should get 1 inch MDF for subs that major getting that much power. Or just barce the hell out of the 3/4 inch.

are you building a slot port box? i have used this program in the past but it was on my old computer, so I need to find a new box building program. Maybe you can point me in the right direction. And I think a 1" MDF front with the rest of the box 3/4" would be fine, but who wants to buy a 1" sheet of MDF just to build the rest of the box out of 3/4".

tonight i started on the rear seat delete and cutting the boards for the box. i only had about an hour before i ran out of daylight, and i dont have a garage so once its dark, thats it. i didnt take any pics of the boards for the box, but here's a cell phone shot of the progress on the rear seat delete. obviously the boards will be together with no gap and carpeted, but that gives you a general idea. the final product will be in 1/2" mdf.

worked on the box today. its about 1/2 way done. still have to do the ports (one on each side) and the center board to separate each subs air space. also need to make the sides.

yes understand patrick, your not just going for some cheap system. it should be amazing. did you say something about you having alternators for sale? how much does a 165amp alternator cost anyway?
