on a good note, here are some more pictures of the stuff.

comparison of 4 gauge wire and the new 1/0 gauge. pretty huge...

Wait... What?
how many watts are you going to be running

watts dont mean anything! watts are basically how high your car can rev. high rpms dont necessarily make it fast...

today i put the new battery terminals on, ran 4 gauge wire to the starter, alternator, fuse box, and abs relay box. 1/0gauge was ran to the back and i changed all my chassis grounds to 4ga along with one 1/0 ground from the battery to the chassis.

That's sweet, upgrading the stock grounds. So many people overlook that. I need to do that to my car too, my grounds look pretty cruddy, I just haven't been motivated enough to get into it.

yeah i have two grounds from the battery terminal to chassis, one from starter to chassis, one from valve cover to chassis, one from from tranny to chassis, and one from throttle body to chassis. should be good to go. not to mention the grounds i have in the trunk!

lol i dont ahve any wires running to my battery. in DA's i found a little plug you can hook the 12v into and i grounded the amp on the seat bolt. for the 12v plug in DA's its left of the clutch, right of the fuse box. its not covered by and panels or anything. if anyone is interested ill take pictures to show where it is.

I know what you mean, but you also never answered the question. I don't think that was a very good analogy either, but I'm open minded. Can you elaborate?

thats a perfect analogy. what makes a sub loud is its volume displacement. you take the subwoofers sd and multiply it by the xmax. watts just tell you how much power it can handle. generally your really big subs take more power to move, but watts really doesnt mean anything....

how big of a system do you have? your car only uses 10 or 8 gauge wire, so whatever plug you found is that size wire going to it. i would suggest running a wire from the battery

i wasn't asking about your subs. I asked how many watts you were running because, in general, no one needs a 0 guage power wire unless theyre running like 3-4k watts rms or around 3-350 amps. Judging by the other parts it doesn't look like you have the capacity to handle that but I was just asking to see why you would need that big of a power wire.

well im running 2 batteries, so the 1/0gauge goes battery to battery and then 4 gauge will go to the amps. the battery to battery wire is about 15 feet, and id much rather have too much wire than not enough :?

i am also using a 165amp alternator. that should be sufficient for what im running. to calculate this, take the amps rms and divide by 12.6. 1500/12.6=119.04 so my electrical system will be well up to the challenge.
