Well you intend on racing then, you want to go faster, which means excess of the posted speeds, would it not be better to learn how to safely maneuver?

I was stupid when I was 16 and we did not have to take any drivers ed classes, but I learned to drive on dirt roads and my Dad would purposely pull the ebrake in a turn to make me learnt to control a vehicle through a turn when the back end is broken loose. I also used to do donuts in my explorer in the snow. I don't know where you live but just doing these things in an open area, I mean no one around, no friends filming, no cars passing by.... You can learn a lot from doing these things, but do it smartish and always expect something to go wrong.

I am saying to get to know how to react, when things go wrong first, take a defensive driving class or a driving class that does the skid pad and control course, these are better alternatives to my free ish method and safer.

I have had friends smash some nice cars, a corvette, a couple camaros, bimmers, so on, just because they thought that they could handle going faster. Speed is no joke and it can and will kill if disrespected....

I hate to sound like a Dad and i don't mean to be condescending but after having lost a couple friends in car accidents I know what goofing around and speeding can do and I remember how I was at 16 thinking that nothing bad will really happen. I am just offering advice and I am hoping it helps.

Very true and I almost lost my Dad to that exact reason, handling fast cars on places they shouldn't be done, had a Ford SHO one before the newest one and hit gravel, corrected wrong and flipped into a tree, almost lost my step mom she was taken up in a helicopter. Crazy stuff will happen, and I have my share of mess ups but I first started driving around 10 or 12, and have done swaps on more than just Honda's more common commutes but sometimes I'll take a nice 350z out and go be a teenager in the back roads, but expect the worst. I got my car wanting to do what everyone else would've done at my age and race. Now that I know my way around cars I appreciate the work it takes to get cars running. And respect the speed because at any given time a car could go, and it's end of story, all because you wanted to go fast and the furious. It happens but I'm trying to say don't get into it until you drive better. I have been to plenty Autocross in San Antonio and even woke up early to set up the track. You learn alot standing and watching those cars, and that's exactly what you can do, look up Autocross in your town take your car and just get a feel for the track and go faster and faster. Funnest thing ever can't wait to take my dad's mazdaspeed6 on the track that car is a beast.

I learned the hard way how to control my vehicle. I was a street racer when I was 16-18 ..... several tickets, and accidents later I learned my lesson. Glad I never got hurt or hurt anyone else. It did make me a better driver but not the right way to learn :)

Looking for my next Teg..
fr a daily car or street driven car the most you need to do to get a small boost to your performance at low cost is add bolt on accessories & call it a day ( Intake arm, Header & exhaust) keeps you legit with the smog boards, & makes the car just a bit more fun to drive in my experience. *& cost you under 1k to do them all.

Those rice burners are just kids trying to emulate Fast & Furious cars... waste of time and money. Not to mention the increase in times you will be pulled over and inspected for ride height and illegal mods, tickets, and possibly killing yourself trying to drive a car that is more than you can handle as a newer driver.

Sell my car or trade for a 5spd and put bolt ons on the 5spd=ultimate win.
