That's a lot of good info. I mainly want this car to be a reliable but fast daily driver. I don't think I'll be hitting a track any time soon considering there's none near me and I'm only 16. As for how good of condition my car is in, I've had mechanics who change my oil ask if the car came from Florida. Absolutely no rust on this car. The body does have a couple flaws though. Got a dent in the driver side front corner panel behind the wheel weel, a scrape under the passenger door and she needs some paint.What are your long term goals with your car? Is it always going to be a daily driver, possible track, show car, etc? You need to set aside a budget and weigh your options before going out and buying a swap. Otherwise you will be in over your head before you know it. Also, it is a good idea to look at every option out there. Honda's are like legos, some times there are ways to get the same combination you want, but for a lot less money and labor.
If I were you, I would sell your current DA and buy a manual DA(since you like the DA chassis). Unless your car is in insanely good shape, I see no reason for you to convert it vs just selling it and buying a manual one. It is just easier, cleaner and cheaper in the long run. Then look for a B17 tranny out of the 92-93 GSR or even a first Gen B16 trans. Both of those tranny's have the same gearing as the 96-97 Spec Type R, but are cable. Hell, you could even just swap in a full first gen B16 or B17 swap and be done in general. However, finding the B17 motor is generally hard depending where you are located. Anyways, like I was saying, if you really want to run a B18C motor, you could do so by using the B17 or first gen B16 cable tranny's, that way you don't have to convert to hyrdo and still have the desired gearing. That would cut costs and labor down drastically.

What the guy said was right to the very last word. Set a goal, track, daily, or show, and go from there, I couldn't of had said it any better. But as other people have agreed. Sell the auto Day. There are plenty I have seen in Okay condition and if anything was bad go to your local junkyard and get the parts off another one, when your done with swapping the motor or whatever, then go paint it whatever you'd like, or other way around, and clean out the engine bay and paint it, that way if you do it right it can be both a daily and show. Something I wish I had done before I put mine in.

Came in here to say this. 8)Only bother with the B18C (R) if you have no intention of ever changing any of the internals (even cams, etc.), its just not worth it after that.
