Updated valve cover shot, Probably going with some black plug wires in the future. Deleted some extra hoses coming from the intake, that metal bracket is gone. Coolant bypass on the throttle body also.

With the under the hood stuff one, I went on to the the short shift install. I got a Megan Racing steel short shifter from my awesome wife for Christmas. Really nice quality.

Everything old from underneath

Here is the old vs new shot. You can see the new shifter is a lot lower and the ball position is going to make the shifts shorter.

Everything in, Also installed Energy Suspension shifter bushing kit.

And the final product inside, It's super low and the throw is crazy. A huge difference. Aside from having to drop the exhaust it wasn't too difficult to install for the gains you get from it.

BEFORE:

AFTER:

Overall really happy with it.

Went out to mess with the car the other day,

What started out as just seeing how to take my tail lights off turned into a few hours work of gutting the hatch area! Before I knew it I was knee deep in parts and cleaning, I guess that's just what happens sometimes.

Seats out

Before,

Now, I have a lot of plans for the hatch area, I have some Tein springs on the way, so this will make it easier to do those, I also want to do a battery relocate so this makes more space on the sides, and then to eventually bleach then tint my tail lights. So in an effort to make all that easier I wanted to pull the side interior.

What I didn't know is that it is one piece all the way to the doors. Not wanting to interfere with the cab area just the back, I decided to cut the pieces right behind the back seats. This will allow me to gut out the hatch and keep the front nice.

With a Dremel...

And the drivers side

Everything cleaned up, The spare will stay unless headed to the track. I like the look in the back now, Little bit race car. I plan on buying a rear strut to finish it off. This will make all my future projects that much easier.

I have every thing saved, So at any point I can just drop it back in if I get tired of this look. :D

Looks good man! Are you still rocking your rear hatch cover to hide the stripped trunk or did you ditch that too?

The way it is in the picture is how I am driving it now, But I didn't throw anything out in case I want to put it back.

If that is an ebay shifter be careful.. I snapped mine, they are brittle as fuck.. Kinda like the stripped hatch area, with the cut side panels. Maybe cuz its all nice black instead of some other bs.

Ha yeah, It's kinda noisy back there, So I dunno, We'll see once I get all these projects done in the back,

It's a megan short shifter, Stainless steel, not the aluminum ebay ones. I have seen pics of those broke too so I wanted to stay away LoL

Been awhile since an update,

I underwent installing my Tein springs, also replaced my axle seals at the transmission because they were leaking. I ran into a couple issues along the way, with work, family, errands etc. it took me like 2 weeks to finish. :???:

Here is what I was dealing with for the most part

But I got them in, the back was a lot easier than the front for sure. The front was extra because I had to pull the axles for the seals, then other crap to get the seals done and in. New gear oil and degrease the bottom.

It dropped it a lot lower than I was expecting, More so on the driver side front, but I read around that it's normal for one side to sag a little more than the other. I didn't want to deal with being to low but it's done at this point, and it was a lot of work so it's gonna stay this way ha.

It was nice and sunny today and since my car was super dirty from sitting on jack stands for 2 weeks I hit the car wash then snapped a few pics of everything to let you guys see the new ride height and my Frankenstein Fujistu/DC/AEM intake :D

Yeah, if I painted mine it would def be black, gunmetal, or white.
I need to get me a set of 91 tails to swap out my tinted ones for a while lol.

I like the black too, I like white more though.

Wish my paint was in better shape, debating if I should leave it alone or try to blend it with a spray can....
