^That. As much as Taiwan wants to be seperate, no one will recognize their sovereignty for fear of big China being inclined to take action.

When I read that I laughed so hard. Have a few friends from mainland China and one from Hong Kong, and all of them get really, and I mean REALLY, upset when you mention Taiwan as being a separate entity. I used to make jokes about it just to get a rise out of them.

Additionally, the fact that you even took it in that direction pretty much made my afternoon.

Also, like I said, most companies produce in Asia. They have built up some pretty incredible manufacturing capabilities that the US just cannot match in some areas. China in particular has really been setting up the infrastructure to be the world's factory basically.

It's just ignorance on the part of anyone that was surprised to hear that S2 sends out their designs for manufacture JUST LIKE THE MAJORITY OF OTHER US COMPANIES. Nike and Columbia Sportswear have done it for years. (I know I keeping coming back to them, but I have worked for each of them at one time and so can best explain through their examples.)

I'm not against that, I support that, I like getting stuff cheap as the next guy, in fact, I wouldn't even be opposed to driving a Chinese vehicle, so long as I know it went through a thorough QC process and I don't have to try to have fun with it lol

Amen to that, unfortunately for China, Japanese automakers have my number pegged. Owned a Civic, than a couple of AE86s, now back into the Integra. Something about the way the cars feel, the technology behind them, it all feels so right to me.

Their quality control is fine, between my brother and I, we have 20+ items from them, no issues to date, that doesn't include past items, these are items currently on our cars

I'm really wanting an old Japanese car, this 08 just doesn't have the raw feel I loved so much in my EF...I'm thinking 70's/80's RWD monster soon.

You got lucky, congrats, I'm sure your car loves its junk parts.

That's the main reason I got rid of my AE86's is just the cost compared to the worth of what I was doing to them. I had a blacktop 20v in an 85 GT-S, and with all the cost involved in getting it set up, the value of the car would never break about $4,500. So I sold em off and have plans on picking up an early 70s Celica Coupe in the next few years.

My brother restores muscle cars, and seeing what he's been able to get when he sells one is just ridiculous! Not that someone'll ever be willing to pay $30,000 for a Celica, but I'd be happy with the car feeling like it was worth what I put into it.

My dad had a all original matching numbers 68 Nova SS. Only had 58xxx miles on the original motor. Got into some financial trouble and sold it. Got $50k for it. It was either loose the house or the car.

That's pretty sweet. My dad had a few AMXs back in the day. Kinda rare car.

Very rare! I've never seen one in person, just on tv. Lol
They are cool cause nobody really knows what they are. Grandfather worked for AMC so he had the hook up on AMX parts (just like I got the hookup on Honda parts lol). From what I've heard the first one was pretty badass. 400hp 390 4 speed with Cragars and FAT tires and a little bit of custom airburshing on the lower part of the body (very tasteful). My dad is really good with painting, should have been a custom builder to be honest. AMXs aren't really worth much but they are becoming rarer so the prices are going up. The problem is there isn't any YearOne per say for AMCs, so getting parts is difficult. But I think manufactures are being to reproduce parts with the growing popularity.
