Well, it finally messed up again, haha. I had a good streak going there for a while. Alas though, I believe my fuel problem has finally caught up with me. The other night while turning on to a friend's street, the teg died. It had been a little glitch/jumpy before that but I thought nothing of it. It has trouble idling when facing downhill though. Anyways, the car died and I managed to get it cranked back up before going inside. On the way home though, the car would idle at no more than 100 RPM's. I had to keep my foot on the gas at all times. When I was sitting at a red light holding the gas so it wouldn't die, the car was running very lumpy. It sounded like it had a set of cams in it haha. So I limped it home and started checking stuff out. I thought the valve cover gasket was blown because of thin traces of oil leaking from under it, but it was fine. So I decided to take out the fuel filter, injectors and fuel rail to clean them out. Fuel color from pump looked light this:

Obviously I still had the rust problem. So I decided it was time to drop the tank and see how bad the damage was. Sure enough, it wasn't pretty on the inside:

Time for a new gas tank. I saw a 4 door today and thought to myself "I wish someone would build one of these". I like it, kinda makes me want to build one myself. Did you like your Drag wheels? I have been debating between about 500 other wheels of maybe picking those exact wheels up from discount come summer. Did they ever bend on you? Did you hit any bad potholes before? I've been reading some sketch reviews about them (after all they are reps)

Ive hit some decent potholes in my teg. As far as I can tell they aren't bent. I do like them though. If you want to get a set i suggest discounttiredirect.com. I got mine mounted, balanced, and shipped for $700 (free shipping)

find the water source, make sure ur filler neck is good

Any way to properly fix this one or is my only option a new tank? Any tips on where to look for the leak? This is my first time messing with a fuel tank

how bad is the rust? you can shake gravel in it to clean it. just look for any holes in the filler neck, its just hard to say thats just from water in the gas alone,

It looks to be mostly surface, but I can only see so far into the tank. I doubt rocks would fix it. Someone suggested hot tanking it at a machine shop, but I'm not sure if there is a place around me that has that. Worse case senario we pay $160 for a new tank. I should probably get a new fuel pump while it's out. Had a guy trying to sell me a Walbro 255 pump for $70

Got my new tank in. Here's a pic of the top half painted with anti-rust enamel

Went to start it but somehow my battery went bad. No idea why but it should still be under warranty so my dad's taking it back tomorrow to exchange it.

So I've hit a little bump in getting the car back running. I can't get her to start. Filled the lines with gas along with the fuel filter. It's getting gas because when I pulled the hose off the rail, it came streaming out. Checked the spark plugs and they are all good. Any ideas guys?
