Spooled up Racing's 94' Integra build.

Did some work tonight..

cheap bastard
best bet is a big-ass pipe wrench with a pipe extension put on it. If that doesn't get it off, it ain't coming off!

jdmjim

nothing from nowhere
i would have thought beating a socket on it would have worked. jeeze

yep I figured all of that would have worked too.. my next try is to use a chisel and a hammer I think.. I just have no idea...

Ill get u a pic of the cig adapter in a while Chris.. I need to go wash my car soon anyways.. It wont stay where it is and eventually I will go with a single unit. but it was 10.00 and worth hacking up incase it did not work.

Ok so I got the bumper today... Paid 60.00 for it and this is what I got..

In the car:

Opened:

It is COMPLETELY covered in SAP.. AND it not a OEM bumper (no integra in the bumper)

I can buy one of these bumpers BRAND NEW for 30.00 I mean SERIOUSLY.. this pissed me off... I contacted the guy and he said "You cant put a little elbow grease into it"

However in the pic he sent me it was SPOTLESS..

The hair line crack that I could not see in the pi goes all the way through on the outer pass side light into the side of the bumper. GAH!!!!

luck is not with me right now..

So after the meet I decided to use some paint stripper and here is with 1 can of stripper.

About an hour of work (still could use another can)

So we shall see

More crappy updates...

Went on our little cruise/gathering and on the way back one f the guys decided to be cool and went on the right shoulder to pass me and chucked something back up at me...

Here is the damage

In the pass door (which was still so perfect)

He told me he was sorry and he would give me money for the repairs.. but I mean he is a friend and I just told him to be careful next time... However I would have loved say 30.00 to buy another NEW bare stock bumper :)

OK no pictures as of now but I decided yesterday to fix the bumper and see if I can get it to my liking.

I put another spray of the paint remover down and got about 90% of it off.. I started some sanding and got it close to where I want it before I primer it up.

I then got out the epoxy and put the crack together... It did not go perfect but it looks quite good, hopefully it will turn out ok.
afterwards I got some spot putty (sandable bondo stuff) and covered the crack and started to add to the pass side headlight to get it fixed and smoothed out. Tonight I will sand it down and if need be add another dab to help with the smoothness and transition.
I also used the filler on the two holes that hold in the front emblem.. Going to debadge it and make it look good hopefully.

If everything works out right I should be laying my primer down as soon as Wednesday and hopefully paint by Friday.. I would like to start the bumper removable and install by Sunday so I can get it all on and ready before Monday morning. Cross your finger.. I am hoping for perfection and I am no body guy :)

Still working on the bumper, should be ready for primer tomorrow.

Today I had a leaking hose that I needed to change.. it was the hose that goes into the head (directly behind the upper rad hose flange) and it connects to the heater valve

Part number from ACURA is: 79721-SR3-J30

Took me about 5 minutes to change the hose, top off the coolant and wash the engine bay down with water...

No pics of the new or old hose but its just a hose.. hopefully tomorrow I can get pics of the bumper.. I cant wait to get the paint going on :)

Ok bumper updates.. I got the bumper paint removed (97%) sanded down the rest to as smooth as I was willing to do (I'm not looking for perfect right now just better).

I put the primer on.. sanded in between each coat with 2000 grit to smooth it out (applied 3 light coats of primer)

Primered:

the cracked area, fixed and smooth

I got only one can of paint because they had no more. so tomorrow I will go to another store and buy 2-3 more cans.. I expect this to take roughly 5-6 cans to do the entire bumper in red (about 30.00)

Here is what I accomplished in the paint dept:

So tomorrow I plan to get another section of the bumper painted and hopefully by Sunday I will have it ready to get the black on it.

Anyways we shall see.

BTW here is the paint I am using.. yes thats it.. and I think it will match ok.. RED is almost impossible to match due to fad over the years, unless u paint the entire car it will deff be noticeable.. I hope just not to much.
