Hello I have 92 integra GsR and it says to only run premium but the guy I bought it from said he runs premium only sometimes so I'm at a stand still the gas light is on so I'm wondering if it's a good idea to start running premium or if I should just put regular in it will regular gas hurt it? Help please. Thanks

Well if the owners manual says premium I'd go with premium. But you'd be fine with the middle one. You might even be fine with regular as long as you fill the tank with the middle one once a month. Then again..... I've never owned a gsr..

You should run premium all of the time. The high compression of the GSR requires it to prevent detonation. Most of all, it would be a DAMN SHAME to ruin a B17 equipped DB2....they are getting harder and harder to come by these days.

i always buy the highest octane i can find at the pump...usually 93
Damn. In CA we have 87, 89, 91
91 is the highest I've ever seen in any CA pump lol

As far as your gas goes... lets put it this way. Is the $1 you spend extra worth a major repair bill? Your engine won't last as long as it should. Your engine will knock. It might be fine if you never hit vtec lol

most likely you pump the type of gas that is recommended for the car.
In this case premium is the recommend gas.

When I owned a BMW I put premium only in it. I was told on Beemer Forums that if the car has been receiving regular for its entire life, you should keep putting that in. Something along the lines that switching octanes can be hurtful.

Premium, and the dude you bought it from is a god damn idiot for switching and not being consistent with the type of fuel he used.

YOU DONT HAVE TO USE PREMIUM. I also have a gsr, a 1994 for that matter, and it does say to use Premium whenever possible but you dont have to. The higher octane is only used about 5% of the time and thats when your jumping on the gas, have more than 1 passenger in the car, or you have lots of weight your towing or something like that. The knock sensor will pick up the slightest bit of detonation which should not result in any damage and backs off the timing a couple degrees. If you are just commuting, driving around town, stuff like that, not jumping on the gas, then any gas is fine. If you plan on driving up hills, carrying people around or whatever, then to be on the safe side, put in 91. Hope this helps! -Aaron

Seriously? High compression engine responds better with higher octane fuel. Whether you're on it or not it's going to be beneficial for your engine.
