so yea... my motor crapped out on me today, :thumbdown:

krazy knocking past 2k RPM, barely made it home... had a friend fallow me, once i got to my street tho... check engine light was flashing :( so thats not a good sign. the whole way i was driving i was granny shifting.. driving slow as hell, sometimes with the hazards... it was dreadful uphills tho. OMG... i never wanna go through that again... my baby is hurt big time! :cry:

sat for the past hour debating on what i should do and what i should sell/buy... so new change in plans.... im going for that K20 unless i can find a cheap, but built B-Series!

Couldn't that problem be related to just basic maintenance stuff. I'd try to get the engine codes scanned asap.

started up the car the other day to move it around to get ready for the strip the ride... check engine light went away... but the problem them is still there. since its at a cold idle... 2rpm it starts knocking... but once i pop it gear and drop below 2k rpm... it sounds fine.

ill have to barrow an engine hoist along with possibly buying an engine stand. not to only tear this biatch down and see whats wrong... but to hold up the next possible motor.

As far as Kseries go... not possible being daily driven since the damn motor is nearly impossible to get it bar'd and street legal. otherwise it can only be a pure race car and i'd have to get a beater. thats a no go. So im left with either a rebuild... and if i do... might as well go aftermarket parts --OR-- ITR B18C5.

So the new goal now is to go with the more realistic and less evasive Integra Type R Motor... then later down the road, jrsc'd to compete with the k series. and oh... i just ordered a new vanity plate... so hopefully it comes soon.

but yea... enough yip yap... ONTO THE PICS!!!

it isn't a pair of takats, but hey... they do the job right?

Nice parts. That sucks about the K series. I say build the B18C1 up real good. The price of a B18C5 will cost plenty enough to make a B18c1 much more powerful.

smog is a bitch in ca... unless i have a "hook up". wouldn't any internal work = FAIL? as far as costs go...i'm just looking for the longblock right now, or maybe even a clean short block. As usual im in no hurry so i'm on that hunt for the bargain.

i guess my concern right now is being LEGIT w/ papers and daily driven, well being able to drive at all... is priority.. lol

Not necessarily. Internals are technically illegal but as long as it's tuned good it can still pass emissions. Good thing is that your car is OBD1 so it's easier to tune. Plus you wouldn't have to worry about having to convert from OBD2 to OBD1 which won't pass.

thanks for the insight, bah... seems like everything is pointing back to rebuild... or convert to obd2... which was pointless of getting obd1 car then...

back to the drawing board. i gotta travel on the job again... so i guess its time off from the teg. i needed to take a break anyways.. lol

did a couple things, removed the seats... disabled a couple electronic stuff... removed the battery... was going to relocated the fuse box... but then i changed my mind, however i will do a battery relocation and a wire tuck of all the harnesses. i also wanna redo the welds and possibly shave SOME of the holes or what not in the engine bay... nothing too krazy and too smooth. i will retain all the luxury features like the A/C, ABS, P/S, and Cruise Control.





once some stuff comes in... up on jack stands it go
