GTi or GSR?

alarm system or not if they really want your car . it will be gone no matter what. unless you got it bolted down to whatever you live
I meant integras are known to be high up on the theft list.

Yes, a good alarm will help you out bigtime, and there are other things you can do to ensure safety.

rockadilla

thats right.
I am not very mechanicly inclined AT ALL. I'm 16 and this is my first car. I've been saving my money since ever so I have 6k to spend. (btw I really like your integra)

As far as theft if I had a nice alarm system would I have to worry?
haha thanks dude 8)

and like i said u dont even have to know about cars at all to do most of the work yourself. i learned how to do everything myself, (with a little help from here or a manual). i went from not knowing how to change the oil to basically being able to take apart the engine and put it back together in under 2 years.

As for security if u have a decent alarm w/ 2way pager and a killswitch or 2 along with using some common sense u should be perfectly fine. when u have to worry is after u spend 10k making it look awesome and fast and go around showing off to the wrong type of people. most integras that are stolen are those that people think have lots of money under the hood or on/in the car.

And i forgot to add that yeah parts are hella expensive for a gti, plus the cost of insurance for a mk3 or 4 is probably about 20% more expensive then a gsr

Welcome to Club Integra.

Gsr

Pros -
A lot cheaper. You wouldn't have to worry about monthly payments, you can buy a great teg for less than 5k. I got my gsr for 3.2k
cheaper parts
reliable, it will last you a very long time
less on insurance
It's not hard to make it quicker. You can compete with the gti if you spend a more money which would STILL be cheaper than buying a gti.
Cheap + easy to maintain.

Cons-
lots of haters
people will be jealous
you need to take precautions to guard your car from thieves. Alarm, garage, club locks, brake locks, etc.

Gti

Pros-
Faster out of the 2
new model
wont have to worry about thieves as much a honda owner.

Cons-
You will spend more on a gti than the gsr.
reliability isn't as great as the teg. Seriously, how many gtis from the 90's do you still see driving around vs integras?
aftermarket modifications will cost you a lot more
new car, more expensive insurance.
Overall, more expensive to have.

Bro if you have 6k saved up already, you're pretty much in the clear for whatever teg you see. You could buy and already built integra for around that price in cali.

GSR FTW... unless you want to end up dealing with engine sludge.. and a POS car down the road.

the integra would be bought for much less... but make sure its a GSR or Type R....

The extra money you have after tyhe purchase of the car.. you can spend on making it badass.

I'm 17 and look what I've done to my teg! I've only had it a year and it was bone stock when I got it. I was a complete noob to cars too, and I only get on average $90 per week! I happen to know a few car guys around here and with their help and this forum, I've come a long way in a short time. My teggy's my first car, and I continue to learn each day.

I'd go with a GSR. If your not mechanically inclined at all, an Integra is a nice platform to learn on, that's what I've come to find out. :thumbs up

Thank you so much! this really helps.

As far as mileage, how many miles should I look for on a GSR? Was there a certain year that is better than others?

Years are cosmetic-

94-97:

98-01:

Basically try to keep miles under 130k while browsing but, it should last for well into the 200k's if not abused
