It's just in the "what did you do today" thread, Wasn't a very big conversation, Maybe 4-5 posts, Thought it was funny because 600s really aren't fast by my standards.

Speed is one thing torque is another, Torque is the fun aggressive part of riding, Speed, Get a steering damper and hit the highway/track, 180 all day, Not really scary just really noisy with all the wind.

Guess that's why the bikes I like are for sale everywhere with stuff like "Bought it last summer, Rode once, Too much bike for me" in the ad  too much torque for them.

Everybody's different.
If speed is what you want, then the litres, ZX's and busa's are the bikes to get.
But if technique and carving corners are what your goals are, then ANY bike will accomplish that.
I'll leave this example here :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kz03sQeX02c

But unfortunately the opposite isn't that funny. Seeing hot heads start off with a litre, busa or sometimes a 600 and kill themselves.
Sometimes I wish people would man up and get the bike that suites them rather than what their friends are riding.

That's true, There's no shame in ridng something like Austins new 125 or a 250, They're super fun, Lightweight, They rip in the twisties, I'd have a Ninja 250 just for fun and teaching my girlfriend to ride if she wanted if they weren't so small for me.

Speed is pointless unless you're a serious track rider that sees track time more than once or twice a year. You can't legally go any faster than 75mph and even if you do it illegally, Wow, Lots of fun, Look at me going 180 in a straight line... Super exciting

I like torque, I relate it to my motox background for the most part because the bikes are light and geared for torque, It's a very aggressive/violent experience  For a road bike something like the RC is ideal, I'm into the european motogp/Racing supersport culture so supersports are what I tend to lean towards in terms of what type of bike and the v-twin just has that aggressive power curve that livens up the experience.

I still really loved my cbr, It was incredibly nice, Bad ass looking, Reliable and pleasant to ride in the low rpm range, I just start missing torque when riding an inline four for very long.

Just got back from riding the bike. It's definitely a great learner bike. Myself and a friend of mine from work and school we're ripping it around. By no means is it a fast bike, but it's quick enough for my experience level. I was able to pull the front wheel off the ground taking off and got it up to highway speeds relatively quickly. It'll teach me the bike control that I need, yet still be cheap enough that I can ride plus save for a bigger bike. First time ever on a bike. It was such a great feeling! I especially loved the feeling off leaning the bike over one way for a turn then a quick lean for a turn the other way.

So far I've shortened the turn signals so they're a lot closer to the bike and not as ant like, removed the reflectors and taken off the handle on the back. Plus I'm getting a tidy tail from a local for $30. It will be staying stock other than an exhaust, 14t sprocket and basic maintenance upgrades (K&N filter, iridium plug)

Wondering if guy is going to come get my dirtbike tomorrow not, He wanted me to hold it until friday, He said he had the money and he'll come buy it if it is as described. Well I havn't heard from him since tuesday, I left him a voicemail yesterday asking if he'll call me back and let me know about what time he will be able to check it out because I got alot of plans tomorrow and if I need to move anything around on my schedule I wanted to know beforehand... He hasn't called back yesterday. Hopefully he calls tomorrow to get it... If he doesn't buy it i'm taking it to the track this weekend cause when I rode it yesterday this damn thing is running better than it ever has. Never has it wanted to pull the front wheel off the ground in 4th gear without even trying... I was like daaamn lol

When bike riding, leaning is where it's at. Going fast in a straight line is BORING ( to me anyway ).

Yo R13, every rode a Busa?
Those things are I4 torque monsters. The ZX's are as well, but I never rode one, so can't comment from personal experience.

As mentioned before, different bikes will give you different thing.
Busa - Low end torque and if you want more top end, ride a Boosted Busa. Compramise - NO HANDLING!!! ( Compared to the lighter bikes ).
Litres - Less torque but better handling.
I think that is the sweet spot.

Now a S1KRR, which I call sex on wheels, is a nice machine. Try it and let me know your thoughts....LOL

The hayabusa I rode felt like a cruiser, They have power but they're pigs.

Well suzuki even says they tune the suspension and everything for comfort, They come from the factory setup for long distance riding so they handle like pigs, I've seen a few people handle them like a small bike but no doubt that took effort and a proper setup.
