I have pulled out my transmission to fix various things. You do basic maintenance that anyone does to their car. Saying you maintain your car is stretching it a bit. If I lost a gear I would throw in another gear box ASAP. Look at Patrick. His box died, sourced one immediately. I don't see why you are being defensive when I told you the truth.
A point he has. A difference there is.

I'm not even being defensive.. The money factor and time was an issue for me for trying to get the transmission fixed before Laguna Seca. Though LS was a cheap track day, it'd be a once in a great while thing for me, since I may move away from this damned place.

Why pull out my transmission 3-5 weeks before a track day when I have no idea what I'm doing? I'd do more harm rushing a job like that than I would be limping at the track.

It's pretty obvious our maintenance jobs are set upon different tiers, with yours being higher than mine, woo?

Also Patrick only has his Integra, I'm about to have a 4th vehicle, plus an additional 3 more in case I get SOL somehow, some way.. 4 if you count my dad's bike. Therefore I lose the need to make fixing a problem with my car a priority, as I'm already busy with other things right now. Therefore, in Patrick's shoes, yes, I'd get on that shit ASAP.

You are on the defensive. i maintain 4 cars...dont see what the problem is. I look and see what car needs what and plan accordingly. You could pull a transmission and reinstall it in a day, so yes you can do it over a 3-5 week period. If you maintained each and every vehicle you own, you could usually see what each of them needed. For instance, after going to thunderhill i knew you should be looking at your brakes, in fact i told you to do so. If you maintained your car, and did a through job at it, then why would your pads be at the metal? Im just wondering if you are the type that does oil every time the dummy light comes on, and then replaces things when they break. Because i dont. I rather not be stranded in the middle of nowhere.

I heard about that, I'd love to come watch people in Sac try to drive in the snow.

My idea of snow is actual accumulation on the roads, it already technically snowed here once. Justin got 2-3" and I didn't even have to clean off my car
