Yeah your gunna need the ecu from a manual and it should be exactly the same ecu. only thing different between the two is the auto shifts for you. A tranny mount might be needed but I wouldnt be suprised if you dont. Either way, one mount is better then spending your time finding a cg tranny. Lol. I dont know if the 5th gear swap would work on a zc tranny though but it should.

Yeah I would bring it to a machinest if the rotting gets bad enough

The rot isn't extremely bad. It still seems solid. I changed my valve cover gasket and while the cover was off I painted it wrinkle black. I got tired of seeing the flaking wrinkle brown. I know my engine is not a blacktop but there is no wrinkle brown paint at Autozone and I just wanted it to look good. I wasnt going to go with some crazy color. Here are some pictures of the result. Sorry for the blur, my girlfriend took the pictures on her Iphone.

Looks good. You should take a wire brush and scrape off the black from honda motor co. and logo

Looks like you might have had some electrical issues or something. The red wire above the power steering res looks like it has black tape all the way down it. Then it looks like there is a yellow butt connector above your fuel filter

Aussie, thank you it does indeed look a lot cleaner. Enoch, thank you I was thinking of actually painting the honda symbol and lettering red. I didnt have a electrical problem though, the previous owner had an aftermarket alarm installed. I just have it unhooked but its still in the car. If you look just behind the cap for the window washing fluid, in front of the high pressure p/s hose, you can see the alarm.

O ok I see it now. I am going to be doing a top end gasket set here soon. Got the gaskets yesterday for less then a 100$ which is a damn steal. You inspired me to do something different with my valve cover too. I like that you have all black with red lettering, something Ive never seen. I think im goin to do bare metal with black lettering actually. I dont know yet though. Should have my tax returns by the 20th then I just got to get the cam seal from DLO253. His work is awesome if you ever need a cam seal.

Wow. Little rough but in really good shape compaired to others ive seen. I cant beleive you still have the in carpet mat on the drivers side. To find one still intact in any honda anymore is rare. Lol.

Yeah its really not bad. It has some rust but I live in the northeastern part of the country where road salt is used in mass amounts so rust is going to happen. Come spring I will fix the body and it will look a lot better, trust me. The interior is next to mint condition with some flaws. A small tear in the passenger seat that is barely noticeable. I didnt know that it was rare to still have the mat intact. I guess I havent seen enough interiors of first gen. Integras to realize it yet. I already am making plans for the car but we'll see how they turn out. I think my next part for the car is going to KYB Excel GR2 struts/shocks. I found a full set for a decent price on ebay. Then I want to get lowering springs.

Yeah the front mat is rare to see in any honda anymore. They are either gone or almost gone. Lol. Its one of those things that isnt amazing but it just goes to show how well the car was taken car of. Yeah I been thinking of doing a front coilover conversion so I can get rid of the torsion bars. I dont know yet though, Im gunna talk to a welder and a machinist to find out about how hard it would be and how much it would cost

My mat is still fully attached to the carpet so I guess mine mustve been well taken care of. Ive been thinking of finding a mat set from or for a Honda with the Honda symbol in them so I keep my carpet clean and it looks decent at the same time. Thatd be awesome if you did a conversion to allow struts with springs and get rid of the t-bar. Let me know how that works out, if it isnt that bad I may follow behind you with the mod.

Actually i was told today by a mechanic that I can just take the t-bar and struts off and put a coil over where the strut is. That would just need a custom fitting for the bottom of the coilover and new bolt holes on top. Sounds right but Im going to keep checking aroud and everything. Going to talk to a few of my mechanic friends tomarow so I can get other points of view

Yeah definitely keep getting info, if it was that easy you'd think someone wouldve done it already but who knows maybe it is that simple. If it is definitely let me know because Ill be following behind you with the mod.

Any word on the strut w/ spring conversion Enoch? Still interested in hearing more about that but if its a no go then Im going to start looking into upgrading the suspension thats there. I haven't done anything to the car lately but this weekend Im changing the transmission fluid. I have no idea how long the fluid thats in there has been in there for.
