ugh. I want one of these. You can probably just use anything that's thin and bendable. Plastic, foam, or maybe fabric would work. It's just to separate the metals from each other, right?

They work well enough to get by. It may start to sag after a while (happened to my old one). and they won't hold paint too well. But if you want a cheap way to dress up the front, it should be fine.
