With Skunk2 Cams, you Definately should be beating a Celica GTS, etc.

i kno, im just saying like a diffrent engine and then swap it back after inspection. but arent rsx's like in the 200+ hp? mines prolly like what..190? i mean i have dc header -_- which i want to upgrade it...soon..hopefully :/ i never race a eclipse gst yet..heard them pretty fast...lol

Can you post a complete mod list please? Engine/Drivetrain only.

With all you got right now, you should be decently fast dude.

Yeah the TypeS (RSX) comes with 200hp, but they aren't THAT fast. In stock trim, they get pwned by my stock Jetta /w only 170hp and like 400lbs heavier.

In realistic terms, the DC5 Type S has around 170 WHP.

i have a competition stage 2 clutch and 12 lbs flywheel, short shifter, dc header, stock cat, apexi n1 exhaust, comptech intake, skunk2 cam gear, and engine torque damper thats about it, im going to do all the seals soon, thats all i have for now.. :/

What kind of cams do you have?

no cams... cam gears? that is what i understood. and even if the RSX-S had 200 whp they are heavy compared to a teg. its all about power to weight ratio... u could have an 83476345823 whp car but if it weighs 400 tons then its useless.

i have a skunk2 pro series cam gears, true... so rsx are just newer? thats it? i mean integras looks much better than rsx (my opinion)....interesting

wow that's not much. i have like another 100 whp to go. so if i have 200 hp, then i probably have around 180ish? yea? i heard that hp are at the crank and once it reached the wheels it lose 15 to 30%?

I'm not calling you a liar so don't take it that way, but I have seen, built and riden in several high HP NA builds. The VTEC ones seem to have less idle issues for obvious reasons, but all the non-VTEC builds all seem to have to idle above 1k and closer to 1.5k RPM or they jsut sound like a nasty loping V8. lol Don't know the specs on your motor or the one he plans to build but after a certain point, more power comes with certain sacrifices.
That's because people don't get their shit tuned right and/or they probably have their ignition timing off. You can build a 300hp n/a gsr motor and still have it idle at 600rpm and run smooth as butter.

As for smog testing, with a cat on my car will pass no problem.
