My GSR is redlining at 5,000 Rpm

It all started when i decided to race wit a b16. The car before that was running fine n Vtec kicking in strong!
While i was on 4th gear already i felt the vtec wanted to shut off on me but i continued to when it was about 6,500 - 7,000 rpm something happened to the car that it looked like it was redlining n the check in went on. So i started reducing speed, it was when i discovered the car was redlining on 5. Okay, i finally arrived to the drag place, parked the car n left. 3 hours later went back to my car n turned it on n drove way n boom. Vtec was working again n not redlining at 5,000, after like 5-10 min or so started redlining again.
I took to the mechanic today to check on the computer. He checked on 2 computer scam, the cheapest scan that can be purchased at a Advance Auto Parts showed something like Air filter something something. Also he did the check on my VTEC Solenoid wit the cable thing n Solenoid clicked clicked so that means it was working. So it was when he connect to a 5 grand computer. On this computer didn't showed no code at all so he told me to take the car for a drive wit him inside with the computer connected n while i was there wit him he said he was going to do Vtec diagnostic so he told to put on first gear n go to above 6,000 rpm and do not swift. I did that n computer said that vtec was kicking in fine but i don't know, i don't fell kickin in like it used before but the computer says it's kicking so i don't know.
What about the Redlining, do you guys think it could be a air sensor or something?
Anyone had this problem before?
If you guys have any idea what's happening let me know please!
I appreciate it

you have it chipped? i think it has to be in your ecu, cause you feel the rev limiter at 5 right? thats weird when this was happening was vtec engaging?

You might not be getting enough fuel. Maybe your knock sensor is doing it. One of your cylinders could be down. Is it running right up to that point? Check your wiring on your vtec solenoid. Check your tps. Etc.......

You have to figure out what it's not getting. If it's getting fuel, and of course air, and has spark to all four cylinders, then you have something to work with. Right now it can be a million things.

No i don't have it chipped. Yep, i feel it at 5 but not always. It only happens when i start going over at 6 a for a while and after that it starts rev n i start slow down for a while n it goes back to normal. The guy that plugged the computer scan on my car said that the computer says the vtec is enganging.
