Well ready to get on it today, Going to start with removing all the rubber out from the bottom/back of the bike and than wash it all up as good as I can. I've already learned from my dirtbike. Always clean the bike as good as you can before you work on it. Working on a dirty bike is a pain in the ass.

Found a good comparison pic of mine vs my brothers, Once I clean it all up, Order all the parts and get fairings. I see huge potential that I can revive this bike and can't wait to do it, I havn't decided what I want to do with it yet. I know for a fact I'm changing all the maroon to black, Than I havn't decided all black fairings or redbull kit, I sort've really.. really like the redbull fairings...

Yay for not being able to start the bike -.- Timing is probably a single tooth off... Again.

Also, I'm sick of looking at stained Plastidip, so I'm gonna peel that shit off and repaint them white. I still have a full can of grey primer and half a can of VHT clear from when I redid the hubcaps on my Integra, but does anyone here have experience with Duplicolor wheel paint?

All I know is don't spray paint over plasti dip. That shit won't come off well. Guess how I know? I painted my helmet green over black plastidip for a st. Patricks day Parade. Yeah part of that shit is still on the today.. Lol.

:lol: Yeah I think I'll pass on that one. Gonna be a pain to get all the dip off though, I couldn't get the rotor off my front wheel (due to the manufacturer using red Loctite on the bolts) so I half-assed around it because it was just Plastidip. Gonna try to get those damn bolts out this time though, I don't like half assing permanent things :lol:

I've used duplicolor gunmetal wheel paint, Probably the best rattle can paint I've ever used.

Soak a rag in either laquer or acetone and rub the plasti dip off in the stuck on places, Comes off MUCH easier that way.

Yeah I tried that. It melted part of the clear coat finish on my helmet. Fuck that lol.

I'll have the CBR soon, He's bringing it to me within the next 2 hours he'll be here. I'm getting the bike and giving him $1000. The bike had a mechanics lien on it from about 1.5 years ago, The guy never paid for the work. Now the title is in the shops name, They're getting a replacement title because they dropped the lien and whenever the replacement title comes in (Clean clear title no liens etc) he's bringing me the title and i'll pay him the other $1100. If he never brings me the title, I got a 06 1000rr for $1000. I can sell my brother the motor to put in his and part it out or something. f*** it lol I've known the guy for 2-3 years now and the shop with the title is known around here so i'm not worried about it honestly i'm sure i'll get the title. But who knows these days
