If you have the VTEC parts, go VTEC. If you don't have the VTEC parts, go turbo.
A turbo LS motor would probably outlast a LS/VTEC motor, though. But, if you have the parts available already, might as well use what you have and save you some green for some other stuff.

No I don't have anything lol. Once I get a few paychecks I'll see what my best bet is. May stay stock

Stay stock, get an intake, header, and exhaust, see how it feels, then go from there.

Sweet.
Honestly, if it were me, while the engine is apart, I'd pull the front fenders and tuck the engine bay. I'd get rid of the stuff you don't need/want and clean up what you do need/want. Give the motor a good look-over and fix everything that's wrong. Heck, even if you don't know for sure that it's wrong but you think it is, fix it anyways since it's already apart and will save you hassle later.
Then, when it's running, address stuff like wheels, tires, brakes, springs, and shocks and make sure everything is in good running order, then worry about the body stuff.
I know it seems like a big project, but it's only as big as you make it. If you take your time and do it right, it'll seem relatively simple and you'll be happy with the results because you did it yourself. :)
Just my $0.02. :)

Engine bay has started being tucked. Abs is on its way out. Battery relocated. Fuse box re located. Heater core and ac is gone. Power steering is Looped and removed. :) I plan on dropping the oil pan and checking for metal and what not. I never had a tick but it doesn't hurt. Gunna clean the tops of my pistons. And we'll see from there.

If i had the money for either Turbo or a Vtec engine, Id go with the vtec engine just because it will be better in the long run.

The only problem is that lsv is pretty expensive itself. I want longevity as well.
