I'm pretty tall, I'm 6'2. I'll have to check the bikes you guys mentioned if they're for sale around here, then check with insurance

We have a 2010 Honda Fury with trailer chrome/silver ($10.2k) and a Yamaha R1 orange ($6,400) for sale at the shop. If you want pics shoot me a PM.

Every one thought the Honda Fury was a Harley Davidson or a custom chopper.

I can't afford a bike that expensive, my car takes all my money. Plus it's probably not a good idea to get a more expensive one as my first bike. I'm sure insurance companies love teenagers with motorcycles.

Thanks for the offer though :thumbs up

1. Please for the love of god don't ever lower a bike. It fucks up your suspension geometry and it will handle even WORSE than the stock suspension that's probably still in the bike.

2. Dirt bikes are not good for cruising back country roads or highway. Unless you plan on carrying an extra gas can, some oil, and you're comfortable doing valve adjustments every few thousand miles.

And just because a bike can do ~70mph, doesn't mean you should go cruising at that speed.

You've never ridden an xr650r then, Tops out around 108mph, Large gas tank that will literally last all day when full and the stock suspension is soft and feels good on the road, Get some 17" supermoto rims & tires and a big brake kit for the front and it's basically a road couch with a lot of torque.

The same can be said for the drz400sm.

Plus if you don't like the soft suspension just got get it set up, Competition supermoto's usualy have stiff suspension like sportbikes.

Supermoto's are just as road capable as any other bike, You just have to get a good setup.

As for valve adjustments and all that, You're thinking about motocross bikes and competition bikes like ktm that you rebuild every few hundred hours, While they can be ridden on the road it's best the stay on the track, Where they were intended to be.

That reminds me, Tree, Look around for some wr250r's and wr250x's, They're a little less common but still great bikes and unlike the xr's they're already street legal.

I'd never lower a bike. I'm not sure if I want a dirt bike. I've wanted one my whole life, but I wouldn't want to cruise on it all the time. I'm just thinking about something to get me around while I work on the Teg (aka cheap).

I just thought I'd throw the idea out there, They're usually super cheap and almost never break down, Everyone I've ever known of that's had a history with sportbikes that got supermoto's say they would choose the sumo over sportbikes all day, I get where you're coming from though, Most people dislike the image they give off.

No fucks given.
And here I sit with bouncy ass rear suspension and talking about cutting the springs in my forks

If we're being honest it's not like lowering our cars doesn't make them ride like shit by most peoples standards anyway

It was just an idea anyway, Yeah it makes it ride worse but if you're too short for the bike you want and really only wanna ride on the road as long as you don't mind it it's a possibility, Not necessarily a good one but it is possible.

Tree since it's winter bikes are going to go cheap. Grab one sooner than waiting till spring cause in spring prices go way up. Try to wait till that point where they are at rock bottom. It's hard to do though because you might feel like they're going to get cheaper but than they go higher and you miss a good deal sometimes. Lol
