type r makes more power stock, but what are you putting it into? doing the swap is generally easy depending what your putting it into

91 LS, so I have to do a manually tranny swap (just pedals and shift boot) and I have an OBD0 ECU so I don't know how much harder that will make it.

My bad I just looked at VCs. The type R would still be a better choice.
How hard would it be changing the ECU's? That's probably going to be the hardest thing going form OBD0-OBD2

Do you even have the money for this? Also, you'll have convert to manual, which is not only getting the pedals and shift boot.

Honestly bro, your gonna get yourself into the same stuff I did, I am 17, but have been sitting on my integra with a 2000 b18b1 since September of last year, Yes very sad but I didn't know what I was getting into, I think the thought of having a Honda excited me so I jumped on it, plus I'm having to do it all myself, so I had to learn and teach myself, but your starting off good by asking around, I'm nearly done due to me asking the people on this forum and a few others.

Just make sure you got the right tools and brains and help if needed, for this type of work, I can't even stress how hard it will be to convert to a MANUAL. It's A LOT more than shift linkage and a shift boot. Don't forget the little things. Clutch switch? Wiring in a clutch switch plug for the switch it self. It will be too much work and money. You are better off saving up for another integra or Honda(I would've chosen a hatchback honestly ) and then swap the motor for that. It'd be easier for one, as long as u get an Eg or Ek hatch, and the whole converting obd thing will be much easier. Take it from someone who is your age and has already made the mistake.

Only bother with the B18C (R) if you have no intention of ever changing any of the internals (even cams, etc.), its just not worth it after that.

My first teg was a 90 ls and I was 17 at the time and did the auto to manual swap...... major p.i t.a. I'd get the type r :) sounds like the engine would come with most of what you need. The passenger side mount is different in a 5 speed. I believe there are custom mounts out there now. I had cut one off a junked teg and had it welded on.

Yea, the way you make it out to be makes it seem to me like the cost and time involved wouldn't be worth it. I have uncles who are mechanics, and even one uncles owns a garage, but he'd probably charge me shop time and I wouldn't get the experience of doing most of the work myself. The engine for the swap might only be $3,350, but than I gotta factor in parts for the manual conversion and labor for using my uncles garage. It'd prolly turn out to be around $6k. Not worth it considering I could just buy a GSR for that price or just drop $6k in my B18A1 rebuilding it and installing bolt on upgrades I could do myself.

All power to you if you want to, it's great learning but for the car is what the time may be wasted, all that money could get u a sexy ass Honda already sooped up and most likely u can get a k powered Honda, if u got the money do it big mane, don't waste it on converting the car, that's just my input.
