grinding noise when moving

B-but we actually have informative posts.. The forum trolls the lazy people who can't search, not the novice who wants to learn.

No one was even trolling this thread, do people think I was f***ing with him or something?

I gave him a couple simple items to check that could have very easily caused a noise like that to appear. If OP goes and checks those things and they're fine then we could help more from there.

That's like saying my engine ticks and having someone telling me I spun a bearing. It could be a ton of simpler things.

From what he says, that it goes away after driving a while, it sounds more like a warped rotor or just worn out pad that smooths out once it heats up.

B-but we actually have informative posts.. The forum trolls the lazy people who can't search, not the novice who wants to learn. Dang. And aside from that, this thread will be buried under 10 more threads by tomorrow. We don't like to spoon feed around here. Or continuously answer the same questions we answered the day before.

Usually its "how do I make my ls faster" or "can I boost on stock internals"

Both those net 1,000,000+ Google results.

Im so confused

ANYWAY. tried video. No go. Can't hear anything on it. I used my phone so go figure. But i did drive it down a quiet street to listen more closely, and I have a couple more details:

1. The squeeking noise is much more audible from inside the car.

2. With the drivers window down, and my head out the window, I can hear the grinding sound more clearly.

3. The grinding/sqeeking is NOT steady. The sound pulsates (sound strength goes high and low); pendulum effect.

If I were to jack the front of my car up, what should I look for? What should the wheels feel like when I turn them?

Ok so i searched through all the weird posts on this thread and from what Im getting I should First check rotors/break pads. Ausie, can you elaborate for me? What will these discrepancies look like? Im a wee bit new at this lol

Just make sure your dust shield isn't scraping against the rotor and see if there's anything stuck inbetween the shield and rotor. You said it doesn't change when you brake so it's prob not your pads. If it goes away when you brake it is most likely a warped rotor.

And if you think that one thread can't be detrimental to a site's credibility, than YOU need a serious reality check. But this one won't matter. At least Samurai_Blue was able to save his reputation by deleting the posts that might damage it. At least one of you cares about their ethos.

And clearly you have never driven a Probe lol. But you be proud of your 15 sec. integra. Or I mean 14.8
Like I said in my first post, I don't even know why anyone would want to be here. As a productive member of society, I felt obligated to join and speak my mind because you guys needed to hear it from somebody. Clearly, you guys don't listen to your mothers. That's why I joined. To be your Mother. Not your school teacher. Besides, you have probably already dropped out.

Who do you think you are? You decided to grace us with your presence by being a total prick? Thanks Mom, but I think we can handle ourselves.
And why do you hold the Probe as this high and mighty God of all cars? Clearly you have never realized that Probes are garbage. I would be ashamed to own a Probe.
The members on this site are more reputable than a "productive member of society", who obviously is not because he decides to waste everybody's time on some s*** that doesn't matter. And people want to be on this forum because there are a lot of very helpful members who give answers quickly and accurately. If you think posting 2 posts on a site talking about how bad it is is going to make any kind of a difference, then you need a reality check. Nobody has ever heard of you and nobody cares what you have to say.
Now go play with your Probe somewhere else.

Sorry for the rant, but you will look for anything touching the rotor (aside from the brake pads). The dust shield would be making contact on the back side of the rotor, if there is rubbing here just bend the dust shield back and out of the way. If your rotors are warped, you can usually feel a slight pulsing/shaking through the brake pedal. It can also cause the steering wheel to slightly turn back and forth while braking.
Taking the suspected wheel off and turning the brake rotor can help to identify where the sound is coming from. Try moving things around a little bit and see if you can isolate rubbing of any kind on the brake rotor or the CV axle, located behind the rotor connecting to the transmission.
Also check for any spots on the rotor that show signs of unusual wear, the sound could be coming from some unexpected source. I had a problem like this and it turned out to be the brake pad hardware/retaining clips rubbing on the outer end of the brake rotor.
