I swear I've seen that car somewhere before. But the NB's drive really nice. The day before I bought my Integra, I put a down payment on an '01 Miata LS, sky blue with tan top and black an tan interior (apparently they're pretty rare).

I drove it off the lot in Seminole, went to St. Pete to work out payment plans and get insurance. And ended up returning the car not even an hour later. Previous day, insurance company told me like 150/month, when I got to the second dealer insurance was kicked up to over $400/month.... Car payment was gonna be something like $350/month.

I still want a Miata, but never again from a dealer... And not an NB either.

Yep, once they get up to speed you don't really have to let off, because they handle so well

If you're talking about TR...... They have no fucking clue. I went to school with a few people that frequent that site, all of which were fucking ricers when I knew them, and go bat shit crazy anytime there's a RHD car anywhere,

but why when i look at the value of it in todays economy with the mileage and condition on KBB and edmunds its in the $4k-$5k. 7k for that car with that mileage is just overpaying in my opinion. Even without kbb and all that i wouldnt pay over $5500 and ti would have to be damn clean for me to pay that much. I guess im just jewish lol i dont like over paying for anything lol
I saw an article on yahoo recently that said buying new cars is becoming an obtainable reality for less people. If this is true then the used car market in going to have a higher demand (b/c used car ~ inferior good) hence the higher price tag. Can these outrageous price tags be due solely to my hypothesis? probably not, but idgaf cause I wouldn't drop 9k on a 01 civic (SI or not)

Jeez the people on that Tampa site... "BOOST IS LIEK A VAGINA ONCE U IN IT U CANT GET OUT".... How the f*** would you know..
rofl seems like something my hispanic comrades would post on a for sale ad

To the OP, to answer your original question....People are just trying to get back the money that they put into their cars...What they don't know is, "YOU DON'T ALWAYS GET YOUR MONEY BACK"...Think of it as a bootleg operation of flipping cars. The only real Honda's worth any owners asking price, in my opinion, are the VERY rare Honda's, such as the Integra Type R, only less than 4000 in the US, the 2nd GEN Integra GSR, limited edition, very rare option in that model year. Since fanboys are the ones that are creating the demand for such collectible gems, sellers can drive up the asking price. Rare cars and Collectibles are the cars you can state your asking price...everything else can be negotiated, and if they don't budge, you can always walk away....

I thought it might've been just me. I frequently search in Florida for different cars and the amount of money people are asking for 10+ cars is complete bullshit.

TR is full of s*** basically. Sometimes you can get lucky and find a nice deal, reputable seller but that is just barely 5% of what is on there.

I think KBB, NADA and Edmunds are suggestions. When you are dealing with a dealer they are dealing with numbers and just want to sell. Private party is going to know more about that specific model (usually) and have more of a tie to the vehicle. There are so much cars that, in my opinion are overpriced buy KBB, NADA say they are valued that way. The only value is what someone will pay for the car.

You cannot add the cost of parts to a car's asking price. That is not how it works. We are not dealing with totally rebuilt classic cars that it might apply to. This is one of the biggest things next to theft that kills the Honda scene for me. Also, so many people think that their car is worth more money because of a motor swap. To me, it decreases value because there was a reason the motor was swapped and it normally isn't good. You have no idea the condition of the motor, how it was swapped, was there any corners cut, etc. Too many questions.

Yeah is like i said when it comes to TR i only buy from someone who has a great feedback score, has a good rep and doesnt talk like an idiot when they post. Only thing i buy on TR is little stuff such as interior parts like plastic pieces, seats or with how my car is now for another front bumper and fenders. I wouldnt buy a car from there and sure as hell wouldnt buy parts like a motor or transmission an ect because people are just scum bags on there and dont tell the truth. I remember years ago there was an ad for a green DC2 that was "built" with "dyno sheet" and what not and someone bought it and the car ended up not being at all how the owner said it was and the motor in the car went a few days later. The guy who bought the car was beyond furious and couldnt even reach the guy again and he never went to the guys house either to look or buy the car. some of it is that guys fault for buying but still i dont trust people when it comes to selling their cars on there. If im going to have a modded car with a motor swap an ect then im going to buy a shell and do it myself because i dont do anything half assed, if theres one thing i take pride in its the cars i own. You either do something right or not at all
