New to forum, need to decide what year/trim level to buy

So I just turned 16 and got my license and want to buy an Integra, I've been looking at tuner cars for awile now and I've just always liked the Integra for a good balance of performance potential, size, and reliability. I am perfectly capable of doing all minor work myself or with help from my dads shop. I've been around cars my whole life and I'm planning to buy my first one. Currently I'm driving a 1989 Jeep Cherokee that gets 15mpg and won't go 80mph to save its life so I plan on buying an Integra in the next month. I like pretty much all years from 91 up and have about $2600 saved up, I prefer a 2 door and 5 speed with VTEC but I'm not totally familiar with all the LS LX RS and all the other trim level stuff. Thanks in advance guys :)

92 GSR or 91 RS for sure :D 92 GSR because its rare and has vtec :p, and 91 RS because the RS lightest of the models and 91 because I like the 90-91 bumpers and 91 is obd-1 so you won't have to do much to it when you are upgrading the engine stuff.

But what he doesn't say is how difficult it will be to find that year gs-r, and even more difficult finding one worth buying.
I searched for a couple years for a 3rd gen gs-r before I found one worth dropping 5k on, so it's going to come down to how much time you want to wait and sift through the duds

He's from sactown. There's a couple GS-R going for under $4000 on craigslist right now, but Samurai probably has a reason for telling you to get a 2000-2001integra. The ones that are going for under $4000 are built before 1997

My first car was a 1997 Gs-R. I got it for $2000.
It got me to school every day and didn't skip a beat, even with 175,000 miles.
It looked like crap, had a crap paint job, and some really botched repair work.
The previous owner was not the greatest, nor the owner before him.
The point here is that you can find a running car for cheap, but it won't look pretty and reliability is questionable.
So you have to decide, do you want one right now? Or can you wait and save some money?

Gs-r or RS, I honestly thought when I bought my 97 gsr that the motor wouldn't last long but I did a tune up and it hasn't failed yet.

Though i doubt you'll get as lucky as I did and find one for $400

I can pretty much play pick a color on 3rd gen gsr's right now in Atlanta. They go from 3k stock to 5k tuned, I'm putting money back every week so I can buy one in January :)

Wut? That doesn't make any sense. If you have a gs-r, then you have Vtec. What do you mean?

Just read this: http://www.itrsport.com/specifications.html Feel really stupid from my first post. Looks like a GSR is what I want but probably a little out of my budget. So then whats different betweeen a RS and LS? Not planning on staying stock for more than a week honestly (please don't lecture me) :) But anyways my biggest question is how big of a deal is it for what I have planned to get VTEC or a 2Door 5speed as opposed to the other options.
