I let it idle for about 2 to 5 minutes, depending on how much texting I have to do and how cold it is. Then I don't really push it above 3k rpm till it's warmed for a little bit
He has a Supercharger, so it's a bigger deal for him to let it warm up. Also, if he only let it set for a little bit, then he should have still been pretty warm.I was in the McDonalds drive through line one afternoon and watched a young kid just leaving McDonalds. He hops in this Cobalt SS (brand new with temp tags), fires it up and IMMEDIATELY red lines it. It runs hard for about 7 seconds and then goes POP and a little smoke rolls out from underneath the hood......go luck on getting the warranty on that. You could see the oil running out from underneath it lol.
Take it easy on them when first starting kids.
