I let it run a little before leaving in summer, but typically let it run a few minutes in the winter.

I always let mines warm up for about 5 mins all the time, just listen to a song or play on your phone or something, your car will thank you

If I leave before a few minutes or so I take it easy until the car is fully warmed up for a few miles or so. Eg shift under 3k, don't downshift above 3k, sloe acceleration etc...

You should be fine though.

I usually give it about 1 minute in the summer. I usually just get a song goin on my ipod and hook it up and what not and then i take off.

I usually reply to a couple of texts and get the tunes going and I'm off. Except for winter, then I wait till I can actually see and idle drops to ~750-850

I never bothered to warm up the car but mines a 99 and that was starting in 05. If you have an older car in poorer shape then i would probably do a reg warm up. 5 minutes though? bananas unless you live in the states where it gets real cold. Still 3 minutes should be good for most gen 3's. Only the past 2 years have i let it warm up maybe 30 sec - 1 min if its cold and been sitting for more than 5 hours.

I let my car warm up to like a minute. It depends on the weather. Since I live in California, it doesn't get real cold. On other hand, I hate starting up my carbed '88 Honda Prelude S. It takes helluva long time to warm it up.

I was in the McDonalds drive through line one afternoon and watched a young kid just leaving McDonalds. He hops in this Cobalt SS (brand new with temp tags), fires it up and IMMEDIATELY red lines it. It runs hard for about 7 seconds and then goes POP and a little smoke rolls out from underneath the hood......go luck on getting the warranty on that. You could see the oil running out from underneath it lol.
Take it easy on them when first starting kids.:)
