Who's running nitrous?

yeah I took the transmission back out of the car today since I have some time before my next chance to run at the track. It took less than 2 hours. I still never got the car to shift right without granny shifting so I pulled out the clutch an sent it back to competition clutch for inspection and an upgraded unit. They said theyd send me a six puck in trade for my used stage 2 street strip. They thought it would help the shifting. I hope it does

Well good news so far. Competition Clutch is sending me a brand new upgraded clutch. They said mine was hurt pretty bad due to having too much throw. I dunno how that is or they said that at some time I over tourqued the plate bolts. I think on my second build thats exactly what happned. I dont remember tourquing them properly on that build and thats when the problem started. So this time I wont make that mistake for sure. They also said they would send it out today in hopes that I can run on friday. Those guys are so nice I will never buy another clutch from anyone else ever.
I also took my flywheel in to be resurfaced yesterday ill have it back today.

I'm going to be going with a ntirous express wet kit. I was going to run with a 40 hp shot but now I think I'm going to go with a 60 shot. I'm guessing this is still relatively safe for a motor with stock pistons. Should I look at upgrading my fuel pump, or am I being overcautious? I'm probably just going to retard the ignition a little bit on the distributor. Anything I'm missing here? Let me know.

Sorry bout that. The 40 shot would be fun, but I know that I'm going to want more. IDK, we'll see. I'm picking the kit up for $300 from a friend-so the price is right. I was going to go with a Zex but this is a steal. Actually, the Zex direct port is so damn sexy, but super expensive.

So is the kit an NOS brand kit? I highly sugest you go with a little bigger shot, at least a 50 shot, When I ran a 50 on my stock ls I barely felt a difference. I was thouroughly unimpressed. My time did get better once I learned to drive using the nitrous. My first few nitrous passes were actually slower than my motor passes untill I got the hang of it all. In fact you could probably get the same gains from a set of dragradials or slicks than you can get from a 40 shot. But nitrous is alot more fun. Just remember to spray after 3000 rpms never before it gives the motor a chance to get spining and lessens your chances of throwing a rod through your block. Always lift off the nitrous during shifts and wait for 3000. Other than that all I can suggest is not to be careless with it. DOnt leave the bottle in your hot car in the direct sunlight and try to avoid using it on the street.

It's a nitrous express kit. We're retarding the ignition 3-4 degrees so I can run a 75 hp shot. I really don't have to worry about timing the nitrous cause my tegs an automatic so I can just hold it through all 4 gears. Currently I got a level 10 built tc but I got another tranny sitting in the garage that I've been thinking of getting rebuilt. 3-4 degrees should be enough for a 75 hp shot-right?

Sorry it took so long for me to reply but ive been battling a bit of auto depression from my car. Umm im pretty sure for a 75 shot and lower theres no need to retard the timing. I never did and have never seen anyone do it for sucha small shot. You could always be extra safe and ge the hondata s100 system and some tuning on the dyno and you will be verry safe and alot faster.

Were going retard it 3 degrees. I was just going do a 50 shot but now I think it's going be a 75. I just picked up a purge kit last night. I got about half it installed. The bottle and all the hose's are in, I just have to t into the fuel line, and mount the soelinoids. We'll see tommorow morning-going to the dyno. It should be fun.

heres some pics of my insall. I installed it as cleanly as I could come up with. It took me like 3 days to come up with this set up.

heres the purge and the nitrous silaoids.

heres a shot of the fuel silanoid

I ran all the wires through the chassis and fenders and wiper tray

I used tape so do all the racers I know just dont be sloppy with it. I mean dont block any of the lines with a bad wrap.

The teflon tape worked out pretty good. My fuel map was all over the place the first run at the dyno. My car was running super rich. I still managed to pull 157 whp with a 50 shot. I swapped my plugs out an readjusted the fuel a little bit and pulled 156whp (temp was almost 5 degrees warmer) and the curve was a lot smoother. My plan is to get an safc and have it tuned with the 75 shot. The tuner at Speed quest said he wouldn't have a problem getting my car to pull 190 hp. I was rather happy with the result since my friends na built gsr that pulled 175 last week only pulled 143 and my other freinds k-pro tuned rsx s pulled 181. I'm guessing I'm sitting at 160 right now. Not bad for an automatic gs.
