well i read all the pages and it seems that people who actually have the kits LOVE them and its the people that have just "heard" about the kits say they are crap.so 'm gonna think somemore and talk to some people but i'm leaning towards buying one.I'm gonna run a fpr and a v-afc .(allright for tuning?)And i'm gonna run a manual boost controller(any input?) I'll have a air/fuel and boost gauge so I'll be street tuning to 5-7 lbs of boost.any tuning input (not about the kit) and has anyone used a manual boos controller?

Tuning advice? Dont use a any of the crap you listed. Get a standalone. Theres no excuse not to- Crome is free. I prefer Hondata, but if cash flow is tight, you cant go wrong with Crome.

yes but then i have to pay a tuner that knows how to tune crome and you called the things crap and you don't have any experience with them

also if i have a 7 lbs spring in my waste gate does that mean the system can't boost over 7 psi?

whats gonna be the worst thing that can happen when the ecu sees boost?having a piggyback like v-afc will that stop any fuel cut or anything that the ecu would do when its sees boost

If you dont want my advice, dont ask. I have experience with all of the things you listed and I can tell you straight up, they are not good ways to tune. You can tune that way, but its not the best way. I consider it a cut corner. And even if you use a VAFC, you will want to have a tuner tune it on a dyno. No matter how you slice it, or how many corners you cut, if you dont have a proper tune, you dont have anything. The tune is one of the most important things in a turbo setup. A shitty tune = you needing a new motor.

Like I said, if you dont want my advice, just say so. I dont need to waste my time giving advice to someone who wont listen, or a genious who is actually considering an SSAC turbo kit, despite the advice of several others. Do what you want, its not my problem. But make sure you let me know when your shit blows up.

so the v-afc is the biggest selling piggy back in the world because it sucks thanks for clearing that up for me.Also i have a friend that can tune with a vafc so that takes care of that.and the advice you are talking about with the kits are coming from people who don't have the damn things but the people who do LOVE them. But thanks for your input

1. The VAFC is the biggest selling piggyback. But its still a piggyback. Piggybacks suck for tuning, especially tuning a (once) NA car that has been turboed. You dont skimp on tuning.
2. Your friend may be able to tune a VAFC, but not as well as a dyno tuner. And a dyno tuner would do a much better job setting a/f ratio, timing, cam gears, etc.
3. The people that you hear from with the SSAC kits love them because they work and theyre cheap. But you never hear from them a month or two down the line. Why? Because theyre at work, trying to make some extra cash to pay for their blown up motor.
4. The XS Power Turbos are not balanced.
5. The XS Power manifolds are not welded properly or braced, and often dont fit correctly.

Here are some links from people who have personal experience with the kits, since you wont believe us.

I dont know what its going to take to get it through your thick skull, but honestly, i dont care. Blow your shit up, its not my problem.

IMO the ssac kits arent a bad kit, they just have flaws, there manifolds do have weak welds hence the reason you getter a better one, you can always get better turbo down the line, preferabbly a turbonetics t3/t4 because there shit can take the abuse a vafc doesnt really help you much with your tune, a dyno tune will be all you will need and will get the job done right the first time just giving my .02 cents

I try my hardest to keep people from blowing their motors up. If in the end they dont listen, then theres nothing I can do. But hopefully some noob will come upon this thread as he is considering an SSAC kit, and our words may be able to sway his decision. If someone else learns from it, then thats good enough for me. But I wont waste anymore breath on someone who clearly knows very little about turbos, tuning, or hondas in general, but still wont listen to those who do.

what i'm saying is the none of you have the kit and i havn't found a person with the kit that hates it.most of them just say that its not a "bolt on" .problems with fitment thats all.Now if you guys want to keep flaming the companies thats fine just don't blame me for wanting to do my homework before i make a purchase.
