I think it's recommended at 60k, but I think it's 80k. I swapped mine as soon as I bought mine because it's not worth the risk.

just buy the belt and do it yourself if you have tools and experience. i have no idea on what the going rate is because i do all the work myself.

Get a gates kit.

I got mine on ebay for $125
Belt, tensioner, and water pump.

Gates made the parts for Honda, same exact spec except with a Gates logo.

Its recommended to replace it at 105k miles. You'll save a few hundred in labor if you decide to do it yourself. I would go with a gates kit or gates racing belt with an OEM pump/tensioner.

Take off the valve cover and just take a look at the belt. Check the belt's teeth to see if they are wearing off. See if there are any cracks or other belt damage. There is no other way of knowing when it will break. Keep in mind that an old belt may not show any signs of age and could break at any moment. If you are taking off the valve cover, make sure you have another gasket or something in case that is worn, too.

I just resently did my timing belt and I'm pretty new to mechanical work.

I started out by reading on the forums here, and also I downloaded the service manual which helps a lot. Grab a friend that knows a bit more than you and do of to it. It's pretty straight forward that some one with our knowledge can do.

P.s. I ordered the timing belt kit off eBay which had the belt, water pump, tensioner, and new gaskets for what you would be taking off and putting back on.

The owners manual for my '95 says 90K Normal conditions, 60K Severe conditions.

I was paranoid mine was gonna bust, I bought the car at 105,000 miles. Got it done at 109,000. We knew nothing about timing and didn't want to remove engine mounts (We don't have air wrenches), so we paid the local shop to do it.

Water pump, timing belt, and a new motor mount, $1000 later and my car was back on the road. If your radiator is leaky, expect it to BUST after changing a water pump. :(

If you don't know when it was done, I would make replacing it #1 on the list. There is way too much at risk with little benefit in pushing your luck. Even if you do a visual inspection, it can prove unhelpful. Plenty of visually sound belts have snapped with no warning.
