I was selected for verification, went through that process. It came back. I was accepted for loans, my EFC went up a little after the verification but not by much. Then on my student page at the school's website, They gave me the money and the loan. and said that I had to sign a promissory note since is was my first loan. I went online and did that. I never got the money so I went to talk to the adviser to see why I did not get the money YET; that's when they told me that they took it away.
I was at a University and transferred to a state college. Even though my total family income on my fasfa has decreased since the last one I filed while I attended the university, they say my family makes too much money. The university I was at cost more money to attend than the State college that I am at now. That is the reason that they told me.
The thing that makes me mad, is that if I was not going to get it, why make me go through with the whole process. When I log on my page it says that I got it, then two weeks later they take it away. If I wasn't gonna get the money, then don't put it in my online account.
The first time I talked to an adviser, all she said is that I am not going to get any money this semester because I am only taking one class worth four credits. and you have to be in at least six credits to get money. She said that my money would come in next semester after I sign the loan note online. I did that, plus something came in the mail from the school about my loan that I was suppose to fill out and mail back, which I did, then the next time I look on my file they removed the loan reward.
They didn't contact me in anyway. I had to go up there again, that's when they tell me that I make too much money. Why mail me all the stuff and make me go through everything if I'm not approved. This long process has been going on since July. I've been in one class the whole semester, they knew this and did not tell me and kept approving me and sending me stuff then when I'm done with everything they take it away. The reason I'm in one class is because it cost $500 and I had to pay out of pocket and they did not tell me this until the last second so I did not have any money.
Hopefully I find somewhere from an outside source to get money, like a bank or something. And hopefully my income tax can help me pay off the loan quickly.
