Well just got back from the track a little bit ago. Had a ton of fun. I managed to get pretty close with my buddy's auto WRX. Also beat a Tiburon and some other car. I'm not sure what it even was. He wasn't serious though, just some guy with his kid having a good time.

Managed to have a fastest time of 16.54 in the quarter mile. Not incredibly bad seeing as I still have the auto-tragic. Hopefully once I get my 5 speed in, I'll be able to get into the 15's.

Rob took a couple videos so I'll have links to them when he gets them up.

Well Super bad news :( but with good news sprinkled at the end.

Today, while heading to a meet in Pelham at the Verizon Music Center, my transmission blew going down the interstate. I was driving, then next thing I knew I heard a breaking/horrible rattling sound and I look in my rear view mirror to see a long trail of smoke. Slowed down and stopped. Called my dad and he asked me to crank the car, which it did. I didn't really think of that at the time, I was too busy freaking out hoping it wasn't my motor, haha. Towed home on a flatbed and now she's sitting in my driveway. Only thing we can see is there is a hole where the transmission cable goes in. But it doesn't move in any of the gears so I'm pretty sure it's gone.

Now the sprinkling of good news.

As some of you may know, the car is an auto. Now why would I waste my time throwing in another auto tranny? Well I'm not. I'm gonna start building up parts for my five speed swap. Now is obviously the best time to do it, and it's what I told myself I would do if my auto ever died. Unless I can get a job, which wouldn't do much good (keep reading as to why), nothing is going to happen until January. I'm not going to be able to work on the car in a couple weeks because I'm going on vacation and won't be back until January.

Luckily, I may be able to drive my dad's Civic that he finally got running. So hopefully I'll still be able to drive, and still be in a Honda

Well there you go, that's all of it. I'm not gonna lie, I didn't want to copy all that. But, I was told I should submit my car to magazines/contests/ect and when I saw that you needed 50 posts to submit to ROTM on here, I knew I had an easy way to get over 50, hahaha

Sounds beast! I am waiting for the day my auto-tragic dies as well. (I'll go the tougher route with trying to locate a SIR-G auto tranny) You have done more work to your car than some of the people on here a few years older than yourself (myself included). Massive props for that! Good luck with the tranny swap and I really dig those Bronze Drag's! :thumbs up

Haha thanks man. I'm gonna go ahead and lay this out there.

As much as I have worked on this car, my dad has been an even bigger part. How else would I have paid for all the replacement parts? haha

But seriously, my dad has helped a ton and I've learned a lot. But him paying for things stops at necessary. He only supplies what I need to get my car on the road. Like now, a transmission. I did manage to pay him back a little last summer by working and I plan to do it again this summer.

And yeah the drag's are nice, but they'll be gone pretty soon probably. They are on my dad's civic right now, which we have been working on the past couple months.

Yeah, no dad for help here. He passed when I was 11. So what I know about cars is self-taught and a lot research haha. But I am considering the B20 route myself. (Selling the auto and buying a 5 speed shell).

Sorry to here man, I had a friend lose a dad so I know how hard it can be. The B20 is a nice, cheap replacement, but if you want to boost later, the original B18A1 is better. The reason being is because the B20's cylinder walls are connected while the B18's are separate. They are also a little thicker because the B20 is practically a bored out B18. Thus, the B18s are stronger.
