*UPDATE*

Well swapped out my motor mounts today! Money WELL spent imo. They were SHHIIOOOTTT. The rear one had actually completely ripped off. The rubber fell out as soon as we pulled it. The rest were just as torn. Hoping she'll idle and shift a lot better now. Also took my header and collector out again. JB weld burned all the way off so we tried some stuff made for exhaust. Hope it works, if not I'll probably order a Megan Header.

Alright well the motor is all back together now. Figured out for sure that my IM doesn't have a spot for the EGR valve, so the last owner just deleted in, but never bypassed it properly. But the car idles correctly now. Before it was at 1500rpms but now it's at a nice 1k. Shift wayy smoother too. Also painted my valve cover. Wanted to do red but no one had it :( , so black was fine.

Oh yeah I temporarily found a plug for the antenna and got the two rear brackets for the back seat. The idiot before me though cut the piece that holds the bottom and the back together. Guess we'll either get a new one welded on or just find something that works.

Alright well I got my turn signals in today! Looks really good now. Also tried to recharge my ac, and my AC compressor busted. It didn't blow but it started leaking the crap everywhere and made a bad noise. Well anyways, here's some pics.

Got a lip From my buddy Rob. It's from an 4th gen Accord EX. It's a little short on the ends but looks good imo. Definitely makes the car look way better!

Alright well I installed my HID's today. Didn't take too long just had to look up where the wires went in the adapter plug. As far as I can tell it's already a lot brighter but the sun's not all the way down yet. Anyone have any advice on how to set them up? like how far away and how many feet off the ground the beam should be. Measure middle of headlight then beam on a wall?

Well here are some pics. I'm not really sure if I have them set right but I ended up poiting them as far down as they went because I kept getting flashed with high beams. They don't have the best cut off but I don't think they are that bright at someones face. Also the high beams are kinda lopsided? The driver side points a lot at the ground, even more than the lows. Idk, I also have to work on setting up the camera for night shots. If anyone has some tips that would be appreciated. It's a Nikon Coolpix P90.

Hey guys, been a while. Not any new updates really, been slacking off.

Today we got up to put my alarm in my car. When I was passing by the driver side front wheel I saw a bunch of black stuff dripping from it. Sure enough the boot on that joint (CV joint?) ripped open and got oil everywhere. It wasn't making any noise last night when I drove it as far as I could tell. Is there any way to replace the boot and not the whole thing?

Also sometimes there is a noise when decelerating. I think it's coming from the front on the passenger side. Could this be a wheel bearing? It's kinda like a creaking/clicking noise that's consistent with the wheel's speed.

Thanks!

Alright well I went ahead and did the whole thing. Took me about 3 hours, lol. I accidentally mixed up the steps, like taking off the shock fork before putting the jack on the ball joint to pop it loose. But I finally got it done. Not very hard now that I know how to do it. Although I did end up buying a reman. axle . They didn't have an OEM ones so they would have had to order it and I needed to use my car. It's a lifetime warranty and I could use the practice so I'm not that worried about it. No noises from it so that's good. Any important steps or tips when putting it back together? I greased the spindles like your supposed to and axle nut was torqued to proper 134 ft/lb torque. Any other things I should check?

Yepp, did that!

*More Bad News *

Today I was driving home after dropping my brother off at his guitar lesson. I was on sort of a backroad starting to go up a hill hill when my car slowly started to die. The RPMs dropped at a steady rate and when I hit the gas it sounded like it was bogging down. When I turned the key to start it wouldn't. Found out (from my dad) that this means the alternator is bad and it sucked my battery dry until the battery died too. More money.... And when I checked where the alternator was located I died a little on this inside, haha. This one is gonna suck to take out.

I think my dad said he almost got it out. He's having trouble getting to the 3rd bolt, not sure where. I was busy taking my brother to church and picking up my contacts while he was doing that. Pulled the passenger side axle, figured why not replace it before it goes bad too. New alternator probably at the end of the week. Also getting new ball joints and front and rear camber kit.

Also, does anyone know a different alternator I can use? Preferably something with a higher output. I know I could buy a high-output one, but I was wondering if there was one I could use out of a different car or something, thanks!

Got the alternator out! Had to pull the driver side axle again to get it out from the bottom, but it's out none the less. New alternator and axle tomorrow!

Alright finally got her all back together! New axles, alternator, and lower ball joints. Tuesday all my stuff for my AC is coming in, thank god. Happy to see her back together. Radio and speakers and everything coming pretty soon. Got to grab a wire harness for the radio and I'm pretty much set. Then we have to work on fiberglassing the sub into the corner of the trunk, can't wait! Some pics my dad took.

*when I got home today*

Got my AC parts and new axle. This one seems to be in a lot better shape then the last one they gave me. Plus the guy at Carquest screwed up and gave me money back even though I was supposed to pay him. Oh well! His loss, haha. Gonna see how hard it is to redo the AC stuff, hopefully if we don't finish today, we will tomorrow. School starts next Monday so it's got to get done! Also got my wire harness for the radio, so that's going in soon too!

*now*

Got the AC done! Took a couple hours but well worth it. Blows nice and chilly! Almost ready for the new school year, only a couple more things to do and my car is set. At least... until I decide to buy some more stuff haha. I've just been spending all my time getting it mechanically sound as I can, so now it's time to start getting some goodies! Exhaust, header, and probably strut bars are going to be a couple ones I'll knock out. But I still have to get the radio in and get front and rear camber kits and get it aligned. Looking forward to the next couple months!
