Yes, that little metal piece is supposed to be attached to the clutch disk. Apparently it was just floating around.

UPDATE:

:woot: :banana::alcoholic:clap::thumbs up

We got it running again.....

It was never explained in this thread so.....

STORY:

We got that clutch, so last week, we started tearing into it. We got the axles off (finally, those were such a B*tch) we got the trans off (dropped it on my bro's hand, Ouch!) and then we called it a night.

Next day, we took the stock pressure plate & clutch disk off. Then we slid the new clutch disk and pressure plate on, without a clutch alignment tool, it looked like we had it aligned after dicking around with it. So then we stuck the "new" clutch's pressure plate on, and then we followed it up by lifting the tranny back up and slid it together with a little motivation and bolted it back up. Then we stuck the axles back in, stuck the balljoints back on, and then stopped there.

Next day, we triple checked everything and re-tightened all the bolts, and I also installed the MBC that was given to us a few days before. I left to work, and my brother finished up and test drove it. Here's what happened:

Started it for about 2mins, left it running. Then he pulled it out of the driveway, and got about 10 feet, then he heard a "pooomng" noise. And then it wouldn't move anymore. So he pushed it back, and we've left it in the garage for almost a week now.

BUT, last night, we tore into it again, and discovered something very silly. The axle had popped out. Either we didn't stick it in all the way last time, or it had popped out on it's own.... So I took some pictures to tell.......

Then, we pulled the ball joint back off, and took the axles back off for a little inspection. And, I don't think this end of the axle is supposed to be ground down like this. Isn't it supposed to be splined like the rest of it?

Anyways, we got the axle back in with a LOT of shoving, and it slid in as far as we could get it. Which looked like it was good. So we stuck everything back on, and took it for a little test drive, and it worked GREAT! Clutch still works, drove fine. No more grinding gears when shifting, and all.

Then we stuck the front bumper back on and went to sleep Happy. :woot:

Whenever we get enough money for everything Lol.

Still Need:

HCP Mounts ($300)
Distributor
Alternator
Spark plug wires $40
Accord halfshaft
Prelude shift linkage $55
Accord shifter box/assembly
H22 header $70
water pump $20
cam gears $30

We haven't even started getting anything yet... We might not even get it anymore, unsure. Because my bro was going to pay our buddy with his tax return, but our Mom thinks my bro might actually OWE money, because he didn't go to school this year or something like that. So we might sell the turbokit to a buddy for $800 to fund the build. And sell the AE86 too.

I was actually going to lower it Today or Tomorrow, but since we got it Running again, my bro took it to work Lol....

Thanks! We need this experience working on the cars and stuff if we are going to do a H22 motor swap sometime soon.... That's going to be REAL fun.

Nope, STILL haven't gotten around to it lol.

Well, my step-dad needed my help installing our damn insulation in the atic, and he whipped out a few rolls of this stuff, and I asked whats it's for, and he said it reflects the heat away from the house or whatever, so the first thing that popped into my mind was: I can use it on our cars!!! So I took a few blocks of it as payment, along with $100 and happily walked away. (Already spent the $100 for my Jetta lol)

lol, i've got it wrapped around my Jetta's intake too :D

BIG ASS UPDATE:

:woot:

Got the rear lowered, and while I was down there I threw on the lower tie bar as well....

Also, smashed the front lip and broke it! Lol! Ordered a Spoon *style* (replica) front lip made out of polyurethane so it won't crack....

Also got a new tire! (just one) Kuhmo Ecsta ASX..... Put it on the front along with the Fuzion ZRi, so now we've got traction in the front, and bald tires out back.... Corners like a beast now!

Got a "JDM" Shocker sticker..... Also put one on my Jetta (see Jetta build up thread)... Hella awesome

And I redesigned the intake system.... Made it shorter and easier to take out and put in... Used a smaller filter

Pics are uploading as i'm typing
