Shopping for Coilovers

So, I cant afford skunk2 coilovers. BUT I can afford the skunk2 coilover sleeves for 276.99 @ Andys Auto Sport. Yes, no, maybe so? :D
No. You'll spend more money on the right shocks to pair with it so your car doesn't ride like crap. I'd go with a full coilover system. I used to buy the cheaper items and it just costs more in the long run. If you're not going to be tracking your car, I would go with the Function and Form type 1's. $545 shipped isn't bad and its a full coilover system with height adjustability.

Also, as all the experienced lowered car drivers would tell ya... Remember to save some money for the front wheel alignment after you lower your car or you'll be creating a "shopping for tires" thread.

not to go off topic, but where did you find F&F's for $545 shipped?? thats not a bad price at all for some coilovers.

If your budget is $500, why not wait a couple months and save up an extra $150 to get the Skunk2 Pro-S Version 2?

www.tunersports.com.
Here's the thing, my budget is only 500 for the sole purpose that my car needs paint and a little body work. Im wanting my car to be a beautiful machine by July for Import Alliance. I dont wanna roll up in a Teg with 750 dollar coilovers and a Cali sun fade paint job. My car is currently half red, and half pink, ahaha.

I had Sportlines on my Civic H.B. They give you about a 1.7 inch drop all around. But the front will be about a finger gap or so higher than the rear (something that bothered me alot with them). I had mine on Tokico HP struts. It was a nice handling car but was still very drive able (except in snow). So I expect it to be just about the same with a Teg. Do you need to be able to raise the car up for winter driving? If not save some money and buy a good set of springs and struts. Also look at Progress suspension. They have a entry level coilover for $580.

You gotta get yourself a set of the form and functions version 2. They are cheap, but are still of good quality.

i say save up cause imo its not how it looks on the outside but on the inside, for example id rather have a nice engine than a nice paint job and nice wheels anytime

I personaly love my omnipower coilovers but they are $1200 new I got mine for $300 used. Now ground control makes a great sleeve kit and you can order custom spring rate for no extra charge. I ran gcs on my fc with tokico blues and it handeled eccelently. Now note for my fc shocks and the gc kit with custom rate springs came out to just over $700 shipped. It might be cheaper for the integra as my shocks alone where $300

Just get Function and Form type 1's. They will be the best buy for your money. Skunk2 ver 2 shocks are over priced and aren't that much better than type 1's. You will NOT need a mono tube design unless you are racing at a track for EXTENDED periods of time. Ride quality for skunk2's are mediocre at best, type 1's are plenty better than their price range competitors/entry level systems.

Get your Function and Form shocks from HiPower Motorsports, they have the cheapest prices... PM them on this site and they will give you a discount. $585
So in your world $545 shipped = $630 Shipped?
