Looks sweet. Is he able to do gown hills and steer it himself still. That's what we did as kids until we found power wheels that people were getting rid if due to bad motor. We'd pull the motors and race down the steepest hills we could find.
Today I decided it was time to install some lights. I picked up a rechargeable 6v battery and charger as well as some LED neon lights. The LED's were real easy to install since they are thing strips and have 3m tape on the backside of them. In order to keep the wagon clean looking and conceal the battery I cam up with an idea. I made a template of the front part of the tub on the wagon, transfered that to cardboard and eventually to some plywood. I am going to hide the battery inside a box that doubles as a cup holder. My dad gave me a jeep top that he had laying around, I am going to use it to wrap the box in to keep it waterproof.
Well I got my sons wagon all done and deided to build another one. This one was rot rod inspired and will be raffled off at a car meet this weekend, proceeds going to the toy drive me and some friends do yearly
If features:
z6 camshaft for the front axle, it spins when wagon is pulled
Pre 1950's Mopar headlight (6v which actually works)
1969 Ohio truck license plate for the rear axle cover
Foxbody Mustang shifter
B&M shift knob (has push button on it to control the light)
I first saw this about 10 years ago when Orange County Choppers did a gas tank in 100 dollar bills. Since then I have wanted to have it done, well I finally got my chance. Local powder coater informed me that he was able to do this, so I had him do a wagon that I am building my nieces for Christmas. The end result is pretty badass and now has me wanting to get more stuff dipped. Anyone else ever have anything dipped?
Haha I am going to take a break away from them for a while. I don't have any left at this point outside of my sons and a rare disney one. I may actually be trading that off to my cousin for an even rarer kids toy. He has a 60's model Murray Tot Rod. It's a pedal car type toy and pretty badass.
Well I took a 6-7 month break away from building wagons and have reloaded. I have 2 builds lined up for family members who are expecting little ones. The first one I am building is for my future niece. This wagon will be similar to 4x4 themed one I built my other 2 nieces, minus the hydro dipping. I will keep you guys up to date with the build as it goes along.
I picked this wagon up for $20 while driving through the country on my way to the in laws house. It was in pretty good shape, but first thing I did was tear it apart and send it off to be sand blasted/powder coated. I am waiting to pick it up in the next few days, I will reveal the color combo for it at that time.
