I don't really know how I do it but my process is usually edit in Photoshop Lightroom AND Photoshop Elements. Lol.

ya if you bump up the fill light it gives the hdr look because it reveals all of the parts that are hidden in shadow or highlight I got carried away one day with that and this was the result haha

when i bump up the fill light it makes it look shitty and noisey, nothing like your dad, ha that looks awesome
