Thanks man. I havnt done any HDR's yet. But I guess thats what the fill light in Light room makes it look like. lol

ya if you bump up the fill light it gives the hdr look because it reveals all of the parts that are hidden in shadow or highlight :) I got carried away one day with that and this was the result haha

For the Canon users, do you half shutter when you focus or do you use the * button where your thumb goes?

I use the * because I usually AF locks up on the subject but I also have the Custom Function 4 on setting 1 so it locks up and I have it on AI Servo.

I find it easier to focus on subjects and then move the camera than to place the camera and then focus because it never wants to focus where you want it to focus. Lol

Can anyone explain what all those custom functions are even for? I've tryed looking through mine (Canon Rebel XS) and it's confusing to me

They all have their different function. Some of them have mirror lock up. Read your manual.
