I think it's outstanding that you care about Politics, the Country and all that as much as you apparently do at just 17 years old, and you too at just 18 years old, red98teg.
Just be sure when your out there gathering info on the issues, you hear the argument for both sides. Hear what people are saying and why they are saying it, then you can decide for yourself who has the better argument. You don't want to become a braindead idealogue - someone who believes the Republicans are always right or someone who believes the Democrats are always right, neither of them are always right. Be independent minded, be open minded, it'll make you a more thoughful person and a more interesting person.
i think thats what the problem was with a lot of people, especially the younger ones like me. I actually didn't vote because i feel i didn't know enough about both parties. I know majority of my friends voted for obama because of what people have said and not know what mccain stands for. <<< I know this because i asked who they voted for and why, and asked why they didn't vote for the other party. I got the same answers from most of them saying "cause i don't like mccain."

I don't like mccain was the number 1 reason out of everyone my age.... sucks because they really don't have too much of a reason to not like the man...

Well all across the world our enemies are already considering us significantly weakened because of this. Hugo Chavez is laughing at us. Russia started stirring up trouble with Georgia again. Iran was going to start it's nuclear program back up. It's always good for the strongest military in the world to look weak to their enemies. Even better we have someone with no Military experience at all leading them.

no, Kurt, I was only kidding.

Aussie, it does help to have a president with military experience but you don't have to have one. Correct me if I'm wrong but there are other people who could advise decent strategies as well. He's not all alone here.

I'm trying to be as optimistic as possible without being naive. This shit reminds me of those Swiffer commercials where people fail using a simple mop and bucket.

I think this is a great thread as well. There's a lot of good input and I'm glad to see that some people still care.

I'm thinking about quitting my job, so I can throw some 28"s on the Caprice.

Yea your right, all the top generals have no idea what there doing. The President changed, but the Directors of the CIA, FBI and the military generals haven't.

And as far as the enemy thing, lol. Really man, thats some BS. Russia and Georgia, along with Iran's nukes have just been going back and forth for awhile, its like the Gaza strip it will get hot, then cool, then hot. Its a cycle, thats all.

Hugo Chavez? LOL, who cares about him. He doesnt have near enough strength.

Venezuela is a major oil producing country, that makes them important by default. Plus Chavez is buying a shitload of millitary hardware from Russia lately. He's want's to turn South American countries Socialist, Communist - anything but Capitalist or Democratic. He's big pals with Castro and Ahmedinejad, shit, he's pals with anyone who's against the U.S. He's a pain in the ass.
Don't buy Citgo gas if you can help it. It's Venezuelan = Chavez.
