at 200000 miles would it be better to use a high mileage oil or a synthetic oil?
My thoughts on high mileage is for people that listen to there mechanic or oil change tech, high doesn't have the the stronger break down ability thay a full synthetic would, high mileage is basicly conventianol oil they just add extra chemicals like detergents and so on. It doesn't have the anything extra for that Integra on the go lmao, so meaning your probably not daily take the kids to school driving, just us your best judgement. You know how you drive and know what your needs. Hope this helps8)

Ask 100 people and you'll get 100 answers. I like Royal Purple. Seals can be replaced cheaper than whole engines. Besides, the manual recommends valve adjustment often enough that seals shouldn't be a consideration, since you'd be replacing them too. If an oil adversely affects valve guide seals, it shouldn't be on the market, imho.
Wrong type of seals. I was referring to HG's, VC's, OP's, Rear mains, etc... Basically any gasket/seal. Your valve seals shouldn't be affected.

But as I saw someone else mention, the high mileage oils are just conventional oils with additives. And its the additives that are a bad idea. Just get yourself a full synthetic and call it a day. Royal Purple is nice, but way over priced for what it offers in return.

how do you drive are you constantly hitting high rpms? or is it just an every day driver the oil protects your engine and you need oil based on how you drive

the first number of the weight is the heat range youll be driving in. 5w30 is thinner cold, so better for winter driving. 10w30 is thicker cold, so it is better for summer driving. once the motor warms up, both weights have the same viscosity. the 2nd number, in this case 30 is the viscosity of the oil when its warm. 20=thin 30=avg and 40=thick

Even if the cars at high revs or daily driving its better to go with a full synthetic, its like when you buy spark plugs you can go with some autolites that will last you a couple month or some ngk spark plugs that cost a bit more but will last you a hell of a lot longer, your be happier in the long wrong doing it right the first time and getting some decent oil
